Jamala has been busy finishing her new album and today's the day it has been released. Simply titled 1944 as her Eurovision song contest 2016 winning song it includes 12 songs recorded over the past two years or so with several songs in English from her previous album(s). This is her fourth studio album following For every heart (2011), All or nothing (2013) and Подих (Podykh) (2015).
Certainly not the typical Eurovision winner's album the song has Jamala's outstanding vocal acrobatics, interesting and original arrangements and rather electronic jazzy vibe with a lot of soul and a bit of blues and r'n'b and even funk and gospel. All in all much more enjoyable and international sounding than this blogger expected really. :-)
Meanwhile Jamala has stood up for LBGTI rights and supports the Kiev Pride.
