EUROVISION 2021: MÅNESKIN'S INCREDIBLE CHART SUCCESS - AND NOT ONLY...

The Eurovision song contest 2021 was a great success in every way, there's no doubt about that. It managed to keep the virus out (well, almost....) and gave people all around Europe what they wanted: a live show. That is proven by the viewing figures that are all over Europe the best ones in many years if not record breaking. (Well, almost...) 183 million people turned in to watch the shows on television or online where over 50 million people in 234 countries joined in! But the real success comes afterwards in streaming platforms. I have never witnessed such a rush to download and stream the Eurovision songs. And so many of them! Besides the winners Italian Måneskin who has really taken over the globe with their music, not only the winning song but their music in general, notable success has been evident for Ukrainian Go-A and Finnish Blind Channels, but that's just to name a few.  I have already lost of Måneskin's records including the most streamed Italian song within 24 ...

ITALY: MAHMOOD HITS #1 EVERYWHERE - AND ALMOST BREAKS A RECORD

Ultimo may say whatever he wants but Mahmood's Soldi hits #1 in Italian Spotify, iTunes, AppleMusic and enters Top40 in Global Spotify. And that's not all, he almost broke an all time Spotify record in Italy with 1.481.036 streams within 24 hours, only 118.217 shy of rappers Sfera Ebbasta and Ghali's record on May 4, 2018.  Not only Soldi enters the chart but also his previous tracks Gioventù bruciata (#23), Uramaki (#61), Anni '90 (#75), Milano Good vibes (#108), Asia occidentale (#130) and Mai figlio unico (#174), basicly all songs released by him so far.  Meanwhile Ultimo keeps burning bridges after his explosion and bad behaviour in the press conference post-festival where he basicly sent all the press to hell to fu*ck themselves and called Mahmood "that boy" and continued with insults in social media and didn't show up in Sunday's Domenica In , where most everyone was attented. For the first time ever the paper TV Sorrisi e Canzoni ...

ITALY: FRANCESCO GABBANI IS BREAKING RECORD AFTER RECORD AND KEEPING BUSY BEFORE KYIV

Where to start? Francesco Gabbani broke two record in Italy immediately after his Sanremo victory: the first ever artist to win both categories within two years : Newcomers with Amen in 2016, and the main category with Occidentali's karma in 2017. Within hours his video became the most watched Italian video on Vevo ever in 24 hrs period. Then the video became in less than two months the most watched Eurovision entry video EVER in Youtube passing Il Volo's previous record on 86 million. When writing this it stands at 90,6 million. Meanwhile the song topped all possible charts in Italy and has sold already triple platinum. It entered the iTunes charts in 15 countries right after Sanremo and currently is played on radios in over 30 countries.  Now in mid April, a month before the final betting offices are giving him the lowest odds ever seen before the rehearsals start, below 2.0. If you thought Loreen or Alexander Rybak were clear pre-contest favorites... they never ...

CONCHITA WURST DOES LONDON AND G-A-Y: JUST A DRAG QUEEN WITH HUGE SAUSAGE

Conchita Wurst has been very busy since her victory in the Eurovision song contest 2014 in Copenhagen two weeks ago. She's been to London and done various TV-shows, has given a home coming concert in Vienna , she's been honored with a sausage (and ice cream apparently on the way, too, with the taste of.... sausage, bien sur!) and she has also set the catwalm on fire in Cannes film festival besides getting compliments from likes of Elton John, Cher and many others. And she may or may not open for the Lady Gaga concerts - that was apparently all made up but who knows, maybe Gaga got interested and makes it happen? And how did Ms Wurst comment on her sausage? "It looks good, but I never thought it'd be so hug e !" Priceless. Conchita came face to face with tha sausage when visiting her hometown. Butcher Joe Aichinger lives next door to her childhood home in Bad Mitterndorf and created the sausage for her honor. "It's spicy, just like her" he s...

There's no doubt what is the hottest thing in Italy this season. Marco Mengoni. His tour continues from sold out triumph to another, his esercito of fans following him everywhere, waiting for him outside hotel and theaters screaming like it was Beatles all over again.... Mengonimania indeed! His Eurovision entry has become a real sing-a-long song as everyone sings along, leaving him at times to only stand and watch visibly moved.... like here in Padua. After Eurovision L'Essenziale has charted in iTunes in 30+ countries and the album #prontoacorrere in 12. Slovenia, Malta, Spain, Hungary and Greece seems to have taken to their hearts the most. LOREEN TURNS iTUNES EUPHORIC

The times have changed. Not so many years ago we had the physical singles and charts based on them. Today the entries are not necessarily printed as singles at all (Hello, Finland?) but we have iTunes charts and it seems Loreen's Euphoria is taking over that in all over Europe and not only. Isn't it nice that you can just download an anonymous file on your computer and help creating #1s in a flash just like that? Call me old fart but I'm old school. I want to go to a store and buy the single and hold it in my hands... :-) Anyways, Euphoria  went to iTunes #1 (when writing this) at least  in Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Ireland, Austria, Greece, Malta, Belgium, Luxembourg, United Kingdom, Cyprus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovenia, Hungary, Portugal...  #8 in France, #15 in Australia, #22 in Italy, #52 in Poland, #158 in Mexico #169 New Zealand.... I will update this as new information emerges....
