ESC 2015 IN VIENNA - DAY 6: SWITZERLAND

Not much changed here either. Mélanie and her drummers are in the dark forest, she's waving her veil and belting out the song. Everything is nice in a way; the song, her vocal capacities, the staging... yet it's just nice. Forgettable. I don't see why this should qualify and take a place from some other entry that is more interesting and entertaining?

ESC 2015 IN VIENNA - DAY 4: SWITZERLAND DRUMS IN THE FOREST

Another forest. Another cape. We are having trends this year for sure. Swiss Mélanie belts her tune in a white long dress we don't see at first as she's covering it in a black (lace again?) cape or veil or something that she uses also a lot to give the idea she is actually spreading her wings and flying. In the dark blue forest with four ladies that drum it away...  She has strong vocals, and so do her backing singers. The sound in the vid below is rather chaotic but I'm sure it sounds in the real feed. I hope. This is one of the songs I never cared much of, but maybe this staging makes it bearable....

ESC 2015 SWITZERLAND: MÉLANIE RENÉ FOR VIENNA

Melanie Rene has won the Swiss national final moments ago. Time to shine ? For me this goes to the same category as the two warriors.... What's it with female singers and these mid-tempo dark songs? 1. Mélanie René – Time to Shine 2. Timebelle – Singing About Love 3. Licia Chery – Fly 4. Andy McSean – Hey Now 5. Tiziana – Only Human 6. Deborah Bough – Take Me Back to 23 Also Conchita was there singing Rise like a Phoenix

ESC 2015 SWITZERLAND: A LITTLE REVIEW OF SATURDAY'S FINALISTS

Switzerland chooses its entry for neighbouring Vienna 2015 Eurovision this Saturday. Six songs are left in the race after the usual lenghty 3-way selection process. Conchita Wurst will be there. But how are the songs? My favourites are Timebelle and Andy. Licia is in with a chance, too, I think. If any of those three wins I'm pretty satisfied, even if none of them is really great unfortunately.... Timebelle - Singing about love / live Quite nice, she's got a memorable voice. This song is somehow Swiss, which is a bonus in this case. Rather catchy. Maybe I will wake up singing my love, I mean this tomorrow, who knows?  Mélanie René - Time to shine / live Sounds like a demo, need a remix badly. This will be eaten alive by the various warriors if selected. Similar in style but only worse and without energy. Tiziana - Only human / live She sounds actually better in the live version. The song's nice, she's got a good voice. But that's all. Not very mem...

ESC 2015 SWITZERLAND: LISTEN TO THE FINALISTS

The long Swiss 3some has come to an end after live auditions yesterday and we have the six finalists. The German speaking entries are from Andy McSean, Timebelle and Tiziana. Tiziana is no surprise, and I was pretty sure Timebelle would please the jury as well and Andy is a pleasant surprise in the line up. The French ones are Licia Chery and Mélanie René while the Italian one is Deborah Bough that I find a bit surprising.... At this point I think I'm for Andy, followed by Timebelle and Tiziana. Licia is bubbling under and might surprise live while for me Mélanie and Deborah are out for now.... The next step is the final in the end of January 2015.... Who is your favorite? Andy McSean - Hey now Timebelle - Singing about love Tiziana - Only human Licia Chery - Fly Mélanie René - Time to shine Deborah Bough - Take me back to 23
