Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Helsinki's Musiikkitalo aka  Music House   has the biggest permanent screen (172m2) in Nordic countries with the Helsinki's "public living room" just under its feet where tens of thousends of people can gather and enjoy various events, right next to the new and fabulous library  Oodi , and Museum of Contemporary Art  Kiasma .  Finlandia Hall , the venue of Eurovision 2007 Welcome Party is just around the corner, too. Musiikkitalo is organizing the viewing on Saturday 18 to watch the final all together! How cool is that? Something like that happened only back in 2007 when Helsinki was hosting the show. Krista Siegfrids and Mikko Silvennoinen are the commentators for YLE in TV2 and the broadcast that will be seen on the screen. They will also report all week from Tel Aviv what's going on in Twitter , Facebook and Instagram .   Krista Siegfrids will perform today in Helsinki's Musiikkitalo some Swedish classics with Tomi Metsäketo who came second in Euroviisut 2006 losing only to Lordi with his Eternamente Maria . The concert Thank you for the music is part of annual Helsingin Juhlaviikot and the songs to be performed were voted by the public over the smmer. Below is the list of the songs to be performed and the original artists, aka the most loved Swedish songs in Finland :-) Krista however performed already yesterday one of the songs, Eva Dahgren's Vem tänder stjärnorna in the Eurobasket Fan Village right next to the venue sporting a huge Krista billboard.... YLE has revealed some more details on Uuden musiikin kilpailu, ex-Euroviisut. One can send their entries until September 30 and the organizers are stressing the fact they are looking for new talents with personality and the best song possible, underlining the best song, not the best Eurovision song. They also promise a lot air play on YLE's radio stations. The shows that follow the process from demos to club gigs to recording the radio versions of the songs and finally the grand final will be shown on YLE2 on January 27, February 3, 10, 17 and 24, and the grand final will be live from Helsinki on February 25. The location for the final has not been revealed yet but as YLE promises big things fans are dreaming of Hartwall Areena or the brand new Musiikkitalo in the heart of Helsinki that will be opened on September 1, 2011.
