The first one is Francesco Renga .  First song is A un isolato da te . A classic Italian pop ballad, a bit like L'Essenziale last year, only not that good. He's one of the favorites and this song will propably go very far. Maybe. Vivendo adesso , written by Elisa is his second song. Another typical Italian midtempo pop ballad. Tonight the remaining seven Big artists will present their two songs and just like last night one is sent to final with 50-50 televote-journalists in press center vote. Sanremo 2014 starts with fewer viewers than last year. In average 10,9 million (46,09%) tuned in to watch the show. The first part of the evening was instead 12,5 million (45,77%). That's about 1,7 million less than last year for the first part, and almost 2,5 million for the second part that also dragged later on the night. Last night's show was partially stolen by the protesters that had managed to climb up the ceiling of the theater and started shouting from there stopping the show and causing a general confusion. The most media coverage went to them obviously. Mission completed and hopefully worth it. Tonight Rufus Wainwright will be among the guest stars. Catholics and so called Papaboys aren't very happy to have him on stage. They are organizing sit-ins and prayers both in Rome in front of RAI's offices as well as in Sanremo. A lot of information on next week's Sanremo festival was revealed today. In the city of flowers the rehearsals are on going, the press has heard the songs and excitement is rising. As we know, this year Sanremo has nothing to do with Eurovision, or at least selecting the song and/or artist for Copenhagen 2014 as Emma Marrone is already internally selected by RAI with La mia città . But let's start wit the stage designed by Emanuela Trixie Zitkowsky. It's only the second time in the 64 years of the frestival a woman has got this prestigious job. It's inspired of the beauty of Italian 18th century palace. "The dramatic theme" , she tells, "interprets the beauty of a hypothetical Italian palace, a salon that has lived its past glory, but time and neglect have been its worst enemies." . Alice returned on stage in Milanesiana 2013 last night in Milan's Teatro dal Verme and the concert was also streamed live on internet. This blogger was overjoyed to see her live for the third time, even if this modern way following the real live gigs in Helsinki and Rome over the years. She released her first album with new material after 14 years last year, Samsara . Now she told she's willing to release another one for Christmas! Fantastic. She also presented a new song, that would be on it, Sonata n 29 by Shakespeare and the grand finale included Franco Battiato on stage singing a duet in Prospettiva Nevski , after remembering their I treni di Tozeur together and Battiato joking about their points and placement in Luxemburg - that wasn't exactly as good as they hoped for but the song's success afterwards made up for it.  This is the track list for last night: Un mondo a parte, Come il mare, Sonetto n 29, A'cchiù bella, Orientamento, Il sole nella pioggi...
