Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Sanremo 2020 continues its almost unexpected success. The third night scored an average share of 54,5% or 9,8 million viewers, the highest since 1997 and 8% more than last year. Tonight Amadeus with Fiorello and Tiziano Ferro will present the show with presenter Antonella Clerici and Francesca Sofia Novello, a model and Moto GP champion Valentino Rossi's girlfriend.  The guest stars will be Dua Lipa, Ghali, Johnny Dorelli and Gianna Nannini.  The Big will be voted tonight by accredited press only. and their votes will be added to the ones from previous nights.  The Newcvomers will have their final tonight and they will be voted by Demoscopic jury (33%), accredited press (33%) and televote (34%), with the usual duel system.  Ok, we started the night with the official ranking of the three nights and it isn't apparently as simple maths as it seemed in my pevious post as Gabbani is in the lead still! 1. Gabbani, 2. Le Vibrazioni, 3. Pelù, 4. Tosca, 5. P...

Gianna Nannini leaves me a bit puzzled. I totally loved her all through 80's and early 90's albums but then I have lost totally track and, I admit, interest in her new music even if she is still strong and one of Italian leading ladies at 65. Well, I will always have these songs that have ment a lot to me in the past, and still love them dearly and bring back so many memories. Gianna and me, 13 inter-rails around Italy and Europe. Ragazzo dell'Europa, enough said. Oh, and I may have ruined the 12" remix of Voglio fare l'amore by playing it too many times..... at full blast! Check out also:

The 68th Festival della canzone Italiana aka Sanremo kicks off tonight with the first of its five evenings. There are several changes to the format this year and one of them is no Big artists will be eliminated this year so any of them could end up in Lisbon 2018 Eurovision. Claudio Baglioni is the new Artistic Director and the Dictator and he will be hosting the show with Michele Hunziker and actor Pieerfrancesco Favino . As always the evenings will be also filled with countless guests from all areas of life: music, movies, comedy,  ... even if Baglioni promises it's all about music and less media fuss and television friendly choices. And guess what? Sanremo gets spider cam!!! Yes, and other technologies like pre-programmed cameras and video effects etc used in Eurovision already for years so expect a bit familiar and not so stiff camera work in Sanremo this time :-) Then we will have living Sanremo legend Pippo Baudo making an appearance (unless he got too angry o...
