Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Latvia started its Dziesma last night with the first semifinal and the second semifinal is tonight. Happy to see my favorites MyRadiantU, Olga & Ligo and Aarzemnieki all made it to the final, along with Niko, Samanta Tina and Aminata Savadogo.And was there a polar bear on stage? Folk dances? Madonna's We are family choreography from early 1990's? Gaitana's flower headpiece? Latvia's Eric Saade with Daft Punks? Who knows what were in for tonight then? Anyways, pretty good selection! And once again it was proven certain songs were better only be heard, and not seen and performed live.... Latvia had its final last night as well. PeR won with Here we go and am I impressed? No. Rather annoying and useless piece of a song with first hearing. I didn't even bother hearing it til the end in semifinal but here we go, Here we go won and goes to Malmö 2013. Maybe the song will have a rebirth with proper listenings?

We have the names for Latvia. The songs have been online already awhile but only today the artists were published. Several familiar names among them from Ivo Grīsniņš Grīslis to PER. PER also got two songs in the semifinals, as did Pieneņu Vīns. Andris Kivičs surely has the muscles to do Eurovision and his song isn't that bad either. Listen to the songs here .
