EUROVISION 2026: BLOGILKAR'S HOME JURY RESULTS - FROM 20th TO 23rd

Here it is, already traditional Blogilkar's Eurovision Home Jury results. This year we had a total of nine people in the jury from teenagers to 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s, most every one just people who do watch Eurovision but aren't any fanatic fans, just tv viewers who don't remember who won two years ago or sometimes even last year, don't have a clue about the polls and odds but just score the songs to their liking. We used 1 to 10 scores. Tie breaks were settled by highest marks and if still a tie by my preference. Here we go! 20. DENMARK -  SøREN TORPEGAARD LUND - FøR VI GÅR HJEM     46 21. POLAND - ALICJA - PRAY    46 22. GEORGIA - BZIKEBI - ON REPLAY   45 23. CZECHIA - DANIEL ZIZKA - CROSSROADS    45 With this set of songs we have settled out finalists as Czechia is the highest scoring song not to make it to the final. Our nn qualifiers from the first semi-final are San Marino, Croatia, Serbia, Belgium and Lithuania, and from the se...

EUROVISION 2026: CZECHIA, LUXEMBURG AND ROMANIA REVIEW

I wasn't planning on doing personal reviews this year either but here we go after all. Truth to be said I have listened the entries 0-2 times before sitting down now to comment them. Let's go! The usual Blogilkar's home jury will reunite later and the results revealed in due time. meanwhile, my thoughts and comments on the entries of Eurovision song contest series is right here.  Czechia - Daniel Zizka - Crossroads ** I had high hopes before this was published but sadly it didn't deliver. He's good vocalist but the song would fit better some tv-series or movies main theme than Eurovision stage. As we haven't seen a live performance it could lift this though. But as it is ... juries might support this enough for the lower Top-10 but it could slip a lot lower as well. Let's think about this again in May after rehearsals..... Luxemburg - Eva Marija - Mother Nature ** Another song I don't get. It's not bad, she's great on stage but is this one of...

EUROVISION 2026 - CZECHIA: IT'S DANIEL ZIZKA

ČT has internanly chosen Daniel Žižka and his song Crossroads (out of 260 submissions) for Eurovision song contest 2026 in Vienna. His song was revealed March 11, 2026. Daniel Žižka (23)  has been involved in music since childhood and composed his first songs at the age of 10. At 15 he recorded professionally his first self penned song. Naturally his studies are music: singing, composition and musicals. He has also starred in tv series as an actor, His stage name was Daniell before he decided to go on with his own name. Crossroads is his 9th single.  Listen to some of his previous songs below:

FINLAND: EUROVISION ENTRIES THAT NEVER WERE: SATIN CIRCUS - CROSSROADS

In the 2015 UMK was a battle anti-ESC like entry vs. very ESC like entry and sadly the first won, went to Vienna, scored last place in the semi-final. I can't even bother to link it here. Satin Circus however did their best to save the situation but came only second. Crossroads charted and played on radio and the band enjoyed some fame and popularity until the end in 2018. Paul Elias went solo and has scored minor hits since and Olli Halonen started his solo career a bit later but scored one of the biggest hits in 2022 and a couple of minor ones and expectations for his debut solo album to be released in 2023 are high.

FINLAND: BEST OF UMK - SATIN CIRCUS: CROSSROADS

SUMMER SONGS 2015: SATIN CIRCUS - COME BACK

Satin Circus may have taken the wrong turn in Crossroads for Vienna 2015 Eurovision but they also have apparently lost a girl in the same crossroads and are now urging her to Come back . Another goodie by this band that could have been so much better in Vienna for us than the one we sent there..... Another wasted opportunity....

ESC 2015 FINLAND: #UMK15 REVIEWS, vol.6 - SATIN CIRCUS AND CROSSROADS

Satin Circus is the boyband turned into man band, in Crossroads indeed. January 13 when the #umk15 entries were published was also band's 5th anniversary. Their aim has been success from the start and after they signed with Sony in 2012 their debut album was released the next year. They are at the moment working on their second album and enjoy fame and success both in Finland and Norway. Curious facts are Axel is also a pilot, Paul does some modelling and even ended up in Vogue Italy, Olli spends time at the gym and Krippe plays videogames. Another oddity is Paradise Oskar once was part of the band briefly. And they met while playing jazz music! They say they are energetic and promise Finns need not to be ashamed if they are off to Vienna. Recently Scandipop.co.uk's readers voted Paul the 37th and Axel the hottest guy in the Scandinavian pop scene. Their entry topped the iTunes charts in Finland right after its release. Is that all enough to make them winners? Pop ban...

ESC 2015 FINLAND: SATIN CIRCUS HITS #1

Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät, the handicapped puk band has maybe stolen most of the media attention after the names were out but Satin Circus and their Crossroads has hit the number one spot in iTunes. It has also been included in most radio stations playlists already. On YleX's poll "hit or miss" 86%  thought it's a hit. Did you know Paradise Oskar once was part of the band and all boys have a past in jazz bands?
