Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Hungary was supposed to have its last elimination heat tonight but instead - after postboning the last week's heat due to the tragic bus accident - this 3rd now is the 2nd one, and the acts of the 2nd one will be having their heat next week, and the semifinals will be both next weekend, Friday & Saturday. Once again the jury will send their top-5 to the semifinals, and then televoters can save an additional entry from the drop outs. Among the participants tonight András Kállay Saunders, who's holding the best Hungarian result (5th in 2014) in the modern times (Friderika Bayer was 4th in 1994. Different times, different contest). Some other familiar names tonight: Adám Szabó is once again very strong, Andi Tóth is not joking either and Zoltan delivers again.   Hungary has revealed their participants for the annual A Dal contest, aka their selection for the Eurovision song contest. The shows start on January 14 and as usual there will be three heats, then two semifinals and then the grand final. Countless familiar names from the previous A Dals taking part again. among them Eurovision veteran András Kállay Saunders who has declared he will try until he wins Eurovision. Do we complain? No. Olág Gergö is behind Roma Soul, another familiar name to watch out. And Gabi Toth as there, too, as Totova.... After three heats and two semifinals it's time for the A Dal final. Eight songs have made it this far thanks to jury and televoters. This time the jury picks up four songs to the superfinal, and then televoters alone pick up the winner among these. Biggest favorites seem to be Freddie, Kállay Saunders band and Petruska. If Hungarians feel ethnic vibe we have also Gergö Oláh to consider.... Either of these winning will put Hungary again in the winning battle. Below are the finalists in my order. I wil be very happy with any of the three first, fourth is fine, fifth is great on studio version but live was rather weak. The second and last A Dal semifinal takes place tonight. Again nine songs that qualified in the three heats, and now three will be qulifying thanks to the jury, and televoters will add the fourth one. This one includes all three songs saved by televote, semifinal one winner and semifinal two runner up. It doesn't look like a very even mix compared to semifinal one but then Freddie is in league of his own here. The only other one I really want in the final is Olivér & Andi. Passed is fine but the fourth one? The third and final heat of A Dal takes place tonight. As usual five entries will be voted by the jury + App to the nest stage that is the semifinals, and one of the losers will be televoted to join them.  This is clearly the poorest heat of them all, weird stuff in here. I can't get imspired nor excited about any of them. I have tgought for years A Dal is one of the best and most interesting national finals around, but this time I am a bit disappointed. With first hearing I was kinda taken only by Freddie, Oliver & Andi, Karmapolis and of course Kállas Saunders. Well, maybe the songs will come alive when on stage..... Who is your favorite?
