First information on the 66th Sanremo festival has been revealed. As we know already the winner of the Big category of the festival will be again Italy's first choice also for the Eurovision song contest 2016 in Stockholm. The festival will run in Sanremo's Teatro Ariston between February 9 and 13, 2016. Carlo Conti will be both the presenter and the artistic director for the second year in a row after his succesful edition of 2015, won by Il Volo with Grande amore that came 3rd in Vienna's Eurovision, after being the Europeanwide televoters favorite by a landslide. There will be 18 songs and artists in the Big category. They have time until December 11, 2015 to propose a song to Conti. The artists, song titles and writers will be made public propably the week after and before Christmas anyways.
