Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Finally! Chisu joins the cast for the fifth season of Vain elämää and at this point it seems it's going to be a Chisu show, but then you never know. The other names are Hector, rapper Mikael Gabriel, Suvi Teräsniska, Lauri Tähkä, Anna Puu and Mikko Kuustonen. This is the first season we don't have any Eurovision or national selection veterans taking part but the names are big and current with those two older gentlemen with decades of career behind them. The most critizised name is Mikael Gabriel that most seem to be going with "Who?!" - just like Sanni last year and look what happened...... If you forgot how the show works here's a short sum up: The artists get together in a villa for a week. Each day is dedicated to one of them and the other artists cover his/her songs in their own way. In the end there's a final episode with duets. After the show the compilation albums will be released and they will sell multiple platinum and the show will take over iT...

We all remember Pave Maijanen for unfortunate Yamma yamma and his last place in the Eurovision song contest 1992. But he is so much more: He's been in the business for 45 years. He's singer, songwriter, basist, keyboard player, drummer, guitarist, producer. He has done a lot of backing singing, including multiple Eurovisions. Before his solo career he was in several succesful and popular bands (Pepe & Paradise, Royals, WigWam, Pave's Mistakes just to name a few). He's the surprise name in Vain Elämää 4 , and already maybe the most interesting one.

Some great tracks in this part once again and songs by already very familiar names. Worth mentioning PMMP's fantastic Pikkuveli , a story about a (gay?) little brother. Many familiar names in this part from Idols Katri to 2000's megaduo NYlon Beat, always lovely Johanna and the solid Plogman, Finlanders, Hector and Mamba with not so familiar Mikko Siltala and Jukka Hallikainen whose song sounds very very familiar.... Varied artists today. The list regulars Anne Mattila and Agents are here but also many artists with only one entry: Dingo, Jonna Tervomaa and Eurovision veteran Markku Aro plus rockbands Mamba, Eppu Normaali and again Tik Tak. In this 7th set we have the usual Matti ja Teppo, Anne Mattila, Kari Tapio, one of the very few Katri Helena songs but also Johanna Pakonen and Jore Marjaranta with his superhit. Two Euroviisut veterans join forces in Jos sä tahdot niin , a cover of Hector's original and main song for a new Finnish musical movie Jos rakastat . This song is currently #3 in the Finnish singles chart after 4 weeks in top-10. All three have participated in Euroviisut, Jippu with Kanna minut and Samuli with Peggy and Olen luonasi sun in duet with Sani. Hector has written several songs. One of the best Finnish rock ballads ever. Love it.
