EUROVISION 2019: VETERANS AND WANNABES IN THE JURIES

EBU has revealed the jurors in all 41 national juries that will provide 50% of the final result, the other 50% being of course the televote in each and every country. As usual many familiar names among the jurors, but maybe slightly less than usual it seems. Among the Eurovision veterans or the artists who have already represented their country and now get the chance to judge others we find Michael Schulte in Germany, Kati Wolf in Hungary, Maria Olofsdottir in Iceland, Geta Burtacu in Moldova, Monica Anghel in Romania, Sanja Ilic in Serbia and the Tolmachevy twins in Russia. Yes, both of them so 2/5 of the Russian jury depends on their taste alone.... Among Eurovision wannabes or those who have participated in their national finals we have names like Dilan Reka in Albania, Julie Berthelsen in Denmark, Stefan Airapetjan in Estonia, Jurgis Bruzga in Lithuania, Matay in Portugal, Ula Lozar in Slovenia and Lina Hedlund in Sweden.  Two more very familiar names...

EUROVISION: NEW SOUNDS FROM ROSSINELLI, RIZZOTTO, SEVERINA AND MICHAEL SCHULTE

Once again some more or less recent releases from Eurovision stars. Enjoy! Anna Rossinelli has kept her career going nicely and this Hold your head up comes from her Swiss #1 album released this January. The video has an interesting floating in the milk kind of imaginary, that Italian Dolcenera took a step further in her Piú forte .... Also Laura Rizzotto has been very active post-Eurovision and her latest is Tightrope . As usual she has written the song herself. There's also a remix Severina has been dropping hits the past two years including Halo , and finally released a new album this year. She keeps on breaking regional records on Youtube, like having 1,3M views in a day of a new video. Not bad. And no wonder. At 46 she still shows the girls who's the hottest.... Michael Schulte is another example that Eurovision won't hurt your career. He has been going strong ever sinc his top-5 finish. Back to the start is excellent catchy pop song, a bit th...

EUROVISION 2018 DAY 6: FIRST REHEARSAL FOR GERMANY, ITALY, FRANCE

The Big5 first rehearsals continue with top-3 favorite France and very much underrated Italy.... Germany - Michael Schulte - You let me walk alone Germany seems to have scored well with it's improved staging; a lot of close ups of Michael, screen graphics and powerful delivery. Seems they are the second country with home brought LED wall for the projections in black and white and red, the photos were submitted by his fans earlier this spring apparently.  The duplicate image of Michael spreading his hands gets kinda psychedelic and disturbing but for the rest it looks pretty nice. At least they make the stage look very different from anyone else. Oh yes, you can't quite see it behind the LED wall, that's why... Casually dressed (for now?) and vocally strong. Did we witness some teary eyes, too? Some are putting Germany up there among winning candidates but let's not get over enthuastic here, maybe top-10 at best, right? And of course some opposite reactions: l...

EUROVISION 2018 REVIEW: ICELAND, BELARUS, IRELAND, GERMANY

Iceland - Ari Ólafsson - Our choice Ari (19) is one of the youngest artists this year and his song is one of the oldest. Pure old school Eurovision and therefor a pearl to cherish. Even more so as he has proven to be a great vocalist live despite his age sounding good and looking so fresh and innocent. He has also proven himself in the social medias and pre-contest promotional events - is there anyone who doesn't like him as a person? This is anthemic, almost religious hymn with lyrics... well, let's forget the lyrics and just enjoy the melody and his convincing performance! The video makes me want to visit Reykjavik, even if it seems to be the size of one block .-) Sadly they didn't bring this Icelandic version though. This blogger would love to see this as shocker qualifier but the odds are heavily against it: starting number, semi one, betting odds... but hey, miracles do happen! And televoters decide. 7/10 Belarus - Alekseev - Forever Ukrainian Nik...

EUROVISION BABIES: JAMALA - IT'S A BOY!

Congratulations to Eurovision 2016 winner Jamala who gave birth to a baby boy yesterday. The little prince is named Emir-Rahman. But no Eurovision without babies: this year's baby onboard is by German Michael Schulte. His girlfriend is expecting a baby girl. Congratulations as well! And lets not forget also Eurovision winner 2015 Måns Zelmerlöw is expecting a baby from his girlfriend.

GERMANY: HERE ARE THE SIX FOR GERMANY

Germany has confirmed the widely rumored acts for  Unser Lied Für Lissabon , the national selection for Eurovision song contest 2018 in Lissabon. Handpicked among the 4000 wannabes by 100 members of Eurovision-Panel and then 20 international experts these six will be now matched with suitable songs et voilà, Germany has another entry to try to avoid the last (or second to last) place in the final come May.... Natia Todua , 21, is from Georgia but also the fresh winner of The Voice of Germany. Her coach was none other than Finnish Samu Haber of Sunrise Avenue fame :-) Ivy Quainoo , 25, is then the very first The Voice of Germany winner back in 2012. Since then she's moved to New York. Michael Schulte , 27, is famous in Youtube where he has 200.000 subscribers. Ryk (aka Rick Jurthe), 28, is singer, composer and producer. Xaviar Darcy , 22, made his debut this year with a Top-50 iTunes album. voXXclub comes from Munich and its members (Florian Claus, S...
