Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

And while we are at rumors here's another one. Austria is going internal this time (last time was with Conchita, btw). They have given us weird stuff from Alf Poier to Träckshittaz and Global Kryner, not forgetting some rather challenging stagings over the decades. Now it seems they want to challenge us again after the beauty and elegance of Conchita and Zoe with something else. So what would be more effective than sending a Russian Turbo Polka metal band to Ukraine? It's been awhie we had some crazy ska in Eurovision anyways....  The band is often featured in the ORF late night entertainment shows as party band and therefor their selection would make more than sense - keep it in the family! - and here are their efforts with the one and only Conchita Wurst for example:

Anti-war song, wild card winner, groovy beats, modern beats, a bit of Brazil, German The Voice wannabes, power ballad, ex-boyband singer, a bit of Lebanon, a bit of Philippines, a bit of Sri Lanka... and not one Swedish songwriter in sight! In general the boys beat the girls, except ZOË who's pretty wonderful and the only song not in English. But it's not German either but French! Besides her my early favourites are Sankil, Vincent and Orry..... ORF has revealed today the hosts or rather hostesses for the Eurovision song contest 2015 in Vienna and it's a trio of ladies: Mirjam Weichselbraun, Alice Tumler and Arabella Kiesbauer . Conchita Wurst is hosting the Greenroom as she wished. That means the most obvious and expected host Andy Knoll was left bareassed outside.....

ORF and EBU have confirmed the dates for the Eurovision song contest 2015 in Austria. It all moved a week forward from the previously announced dates so the final takes place on Saturday May 23, 2015 while the semifinal as usual the previous Tuesday and Thursday, or May 19 and 21.  The venua has not yet been announced but it's due soon. Vienna's Wiener Stadthalle, Inssbruck's OlympiaWorld and Graz's Stadthalle are still in the running,meaning Vienna's other offer, Marx hall has been dropped.
