Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Where did Alexey Vorobyov disappear after Eurovision where he finished 16th, Russia's worst since 1995 with RedOne penned Get you ? Los Angeles, that's where he went and into the studio with the same RedOne. He will start conquering America as Alex Sparrow in 2012 and here comes a little teaser, a cover of DJ Khaled ft Drake, Rick Ross and Lil Wayne's  I'm on one . The vid's made for fun in one day by Alex himself using one camera only. Enjoy!

Russia didn't have an open selection and sent Alexej Vorobiov with mediocre Get you instead and luckily it failed badly (for Russia) in the final reaching only 16th place. Switzerland on the other hand had in their selection my favourite song of the season, Vittoria Hyde's Play the trumpet . Unfortunately it was disqualified and replaced by another bella bionda alta e magra Italian, Scilla and her Barbie doll which remains my favourite of their final songs, when some of my favourites were left in the internet selection.... The winner Anna Rossinelli celebrated for awhile and was the last to qualify for the final from the first semifinal and came last in the final but hey, Switzerland did the final for a change!

Alexey from Sweden, sorry Russia is next on stage with his all Swedish team and LED lit shoes fighting his war against Sweden and Eric. I still don't like the song and the presentation isn't that special me thinks. The dancing seems rather non-spontaneous. Well, it never is in such a choreographed number but the trick is to make it look like one. This feels very forced to me. Also vocally but then we know all that matters is the big night. He is still dressed in black leather jacket and white t's James Dean style while the dancers are in black. Anyways, I'm wishing for a little miracle and Russia missing the final but there's no such hope in the world I guess. Anna from Switzerland   is still singing her little tune in her red dress and nothing seems to have changed; it all looks still colorful and glittery in the background eating Anna and her musicians - but then it looks propably fine on TV. I still doubt this will attract enough votes to squeeze into the final....

Like the LED walls were not enough they have LED jackets and LED shoes and own LED walls. Oh well. But then, the golden shoes are so 80's but what the Herreys will say? Alexey shows Eric he can sing live and dance a bit, too, but it doesn't help when your song is so weak. The new Russian intro has nothing to do with the song and feels clued into it just to give it a hint of originality and Russian thing but as I said it feels useless and pointless. In overall the most boring act until now today and absolutely does not deserve a place in the final but this is Russia, so...  Watch here . At least for the rehearsal Alexey and his three male backing dancers are sporting a 50's James Dean look. Two backing singers have been apparently hidden off stage.Oh, and he does Sakis! As a jumper! Looks like he potreys the new rich Russia well....  The only problem is that he can't play the bad part convincingly not even a second. And did I say the song is crap? And of course as he is a Russian star he must have nude fotos of him flotaing around internet trying to be sexy and he fails there, too, big time. If you are not bad nor sexy you shouldn't push it. Maybe he should stick to singing jolly little numbers like the Kalinka rip off instead....
