Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Estonia has had the final of the 18th Eesti laul tonight, the national final for Eurovision song contest 2026. Vanilla Ninja was selected as the winner so they return to Eurovision after finishing 8th in 2005 for Switzerland with Cool vibes (that was actually cool). This Too epic to be true isn't very epic sadly. Neither the whol selection this year. My initial favorite was NOEP and indeed it may still be the best one for me. Vanilla Ninja these days is Lenna Kuurmaa, Piret Järvis and Kerli Kivilaan. They had their prime time in 2002-2008 when they had several hits in Central Europe ( Tough enough , When the Indians cry and Blue tattoo just to mention some) and reunited in 2020. They tried to win Euro laul also in 2003 with Club Kung-Fu (9th) and 2007 with Birds of peace (4th).  A total of 177 entries were submitted for the contest. A 34 member jury chose the 12 finalists and the songs were presented on October 30 and 31. Among the artists Eurovision veterans Getter Jaani (2011),...

  Yet another dose of #Finpop 2025. We have a still pretty unknown TINA with a string of ,more or less young males with various degree of success and experience collaborating with each other: Joe L, ANI, AHTI, Ollie, Aste and Juuna Chill - all already familiar to this series of #Finpop. And yes, there's again a song co-written by Goldielocks (Joe L/ANI) as well as Kuumaa's Johannes (Aste/Ollie)! This week we have newbies Ellimei and Lasse Havu with Ollie that keeps delivering perfect pop songs for years already, wouldn't it be time to play the #UMK2025 card to finally make it to household name? and real veteran group Teleks that also keeps delivering radio pops one after another.   This week all the songs are a bit older but still #Finpop2024. All four artists are releasing new songs in steady flow and gain popularity, even if still missing The Hit. Estonia had its semi-finals in January and 20 songs became 10. Wildcard round added to the line up Elysa and Mia and so we have a perfect dozen for the grand final. The voting in final is first 50/50 with televote and jury and Top-3 will get to the superfinal where only televote is used.  Sissi seems to be an early favorite (and Eurovision winner  Dave Benson's daughter) and has got the pimp slot in the line up. And yes, this is the first time I listen to these songs, like most of the reviews I am doing this year. Haven't really followed the semi-finals at all.  Meelik - Tuju * Oh dear what is this?
