Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Lithuania's Eurovizija reaches the fourth heat tonight. Once again about half the songs will make it to the next step voted by the jury and the televoters together. Among the artists tonight Neringa and most of all Aiste. This is her at least 9th time she tries to win it and has got Latvian Aminata writing her the song. Let's see if this combination can do the trick! Two last minute withdrawels in this heat as Solaris withdraw just before taping the show, and Ruslanas Kirilkinas just days ago for not better known "personal reasons". Lithuania is ready to start their marathon selection. A total of 51 singers will battle through ten episodes and March 11 we have the final with at least singers. Among the artists two previous winners Sasha Song  (2009) and  Vilija Matačiūnaitė (2014) as well as eternal runner ups Mia and  Aistė Pilvelytė - will she finally make it? This is her... 10th? try - and a string of other familiar names like Ruslanas Kirilkanas . Below is the full list of the artists taking part. The shows start on January 7, 2017. Phew, incredible but true! The Lithuanian marathon comes to an end. After ten weeks of performing the same songs over and over we have only six left as the songs and the artists have been dropping like flies every week. Maybe this may seem like a good idea on paper but in practise Lithuanians have heard the songs so many times their likings have changed while in the Eurovision most viewers and voters hear the song for the very first time and that's what counts the most. Early stand out favorite Rūta Ščiogolevaitė has been losing ground while Donny Montell has had his ups and downs, too. Aistė Pilvelytė has also dropped with further hearings while Erica Jennings has gained popularity while the show's been on. Should she won the question remains: Will it be instant enough? The game is between these four, Ieva Zasimauskaitė and Ruslanas Kirilkinas are there for decoration. Lithuania finally put the two categories together; those with their own songs and those that were given songs submitted. Two will be eliminated tonight, and eight will continue to the semifinal. Some day they will arrive to a conclusion.....  The Lithuanian jury has already voted, and Donny boy took the lead again, followed by Aiste and Erica while Ruta is losing ground. Lithuania keeps dropping artists and songs, and five will survive tonight and three will go home. I think. Lithuania continues its selection and this time it's the artists and the songs selected among the submitted entries. From this heat 10 will move forward and only the last two will be eliminated. As always there's the Lithuanian expert jury, televoters and the international jury.  National selection veteram Aiste Pilvelyte is back for the 9th time. At least. She first took part in 1999, then 2004, 2005 and 2006. In 2007 she already reached 4rd place with Emotional fire, then both 2008 and 2010 she was 2nd with Troy on fire and Melancholia. She was back again in 2014 but was kicked out already in the second show, and now in 2016 she is firmly moving on to the next step with her song. Isn't it time she wins? Lithuanian television has announced the names for the national selection for the Eurovision song contest 2016. A total of 28 artists or acts will go through the weekly eliminations of artists/acts and songs and after 8 weeks we will have a matching pair as a winner, or so we all hope! Among the participants we have two previous entrants Donny Montell (or Donatas Montvydas) and Erika Jennings who got style back in 2001. Aistė Pilvelytė is back for the 8th time at least and has been the runner up twice, will she finally make it? And then we have Ruslanas Kirilkinas back. He has been also to the Finnish Idols and caused a minor scandal when his gay sex porn pics from early 2000's made the tabloids when he made a name in music business..... I got an email complaining about the idea of this "naked singers" in this blog as it has nothing to do with Eurovision. Well, I must admit it was not my original intention but to present some songs for summer I like or felt are fitting. Then I discovered one naked singer after another and the series took a little turn to that direction. But to say it has nothing to do with Eurovision is not right. Above we have pictures of Ruslanas Kirilkinas, Azis, Gary Revel J r and Marco Banderas , all international and national Eurovision veterans or wannabes. Ruslanas was to take part in Lithuanian selection this year but withdraw (and he has been in the Finnish Idols). He's done some gayporn in the past. Azis backed Mariana Popova in ESC 2006 and has proudly displayed his enlargement results of his privates in photos besides many other controversial photos and videos.
