ITALY: SANREMO A SUCCESS: 58,45 SHARE FOR THE FINAL!

Before we talk more about Francesco Gabbani's victory let's have a final look on the audience and shares. And it's a real boom: the fianl was watched in average by 12.022.000 viewers or 58,45 share, the second best ever! The one doing better is 2009 with Polo Bonolis and Luca laurenti hosting. The festival's five day average is 50,7% (Conti was hoping for a 45% to be happy), the best share since 2005, with an average of 10.848.000 viewers per night, with over 40 milion contacts.  Conti has also done better every year: 48,6% in 2015, 49,6% in 2016 and now 50,7% in 2017. Sadly he's not returning for 2018.... And to stop the bad mouthing and false rumours about his salary he donated his paycheck (after taxes) 100.000 euro to the earthquake victims. it's worth remembering also Maria De Filippi was borrowed from the enemy television empire Mediaset for free.

ESC 2015: 197.000.000 VIEWERS

The numbers are out, nearly 200 million watched the Eurovision song contest 2015 from Vienna, EBU's exact number being 197 million in 40 countries. The final also more than doubled the usual Saturday night share (16,4%) considering all countries with 39,6% share. Compared to the 2014 edition it's 6% increase and 2 million extra people.  The statistic also reveal an 8% increase in young viewers (15-24) with 44,8% share. Usually the Saturday night prime time share in the age group is only 11,1%! Iceland as usual scored the highest share with 95,5%, while Sweden was second when 85,6% of Swedes turned to watch Måns Z bring the victory for Sweden for the sixth time.  The host country Austria scored 59,9% share. May sound little but it's the highest in the last decade for any TV audience in the country! In short: A success!

SANREMO 2015: HALF OF ITALIANS TURNED IN WITH SANREMO LAST NIGHT

That's about half a million better than last year in tv-audience but a little less in contacts.... More details (in Italian) here . You can check artist by artist how many viewers turned in to watch their performance (Malika scored highest here with 15.361.000) and in the second list by every artist and the peak share during their performance per minute. Here surprisingly Gradia Di Michele & Mauro Coruzzi got the most interest followed by Lara Fabian. Apparently people were not impressed after ...
