Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Hmm... am I warming up to this? I do understand why so many like this one and expect great things from it but so far I haven't really liked it. But now the backing voices have been tuned down, Aminata looks like Diana Ross from a far in her dress and does similar hand movements she did back in the day, or is it Sinitta? The backdrop is very simple with a very few images that keep pulsating and switching in the beat of the music in red and white.... As staging this is near perfection. Will it be enough to make the final? Or a good placement there? This could go either way; or the televoters don't get it or they do get it big time.

Latvia's Aminata continues this year's trend of long (questionable) dresses and headpieces. Her dress looks like a huge wedding dress straight from the Irish gipsy traveller's wedding, not quite fitting her figure - she even admitted it's too tight for her -  and then they just dropped it into a sink of red paint. Oh well.... The backdrop is a modern interpretation of last year's Sammarinese shell of Botticelli, and the whole affair is red and silver. Many like this song and I wonder why. She's ot a voice, it's different and maybe modern but I find it monotone and shouty. Not a good shoyty kind like Suus , but simply irritating shouty. For me this is the shock non qualifier, but once again: What do I know?
