Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Laura Pausini debuted as show hostess with Paola Cortellesi, an imitator and comedian, last night on Rai1. And she handled it surprisingly well, a highly entertaining show with Marco Mengoni , Noemi and Andrea Bocelli among guests. On top of that she did several of her songs , medleys, talked a bit dirty, changed outfits. And it was striking how Eurovision/Swedish friendly the show was for an Italian prime time production: first of all Mengoni was there, A medley included Gente di mare , Jalisse was named (and Fiumi di parole sung but with different lyrics by Paola), Andrea Bocelli sat down the piano and played and sung a bit of Pippi Longstocking , Laura's act for Innamorata was all yellow-blue.... they did ABBA medley ! And more; there was Raul Bova, they did The Superemes ! Marco Mengoni and Paola Cortellesi did touching monologue against bullism with Guerriero . Teary eyes all over. Oops, he did it again. His two albums released this year are both amazingly good, and there's no shortage of the songs to add on this list. But I took this one as it's been the other summer feel good party song and uts me in a good mood instantly. It could have been also Guerriero or Ti ho voluto bene veramente , for the replays I have had with them but it's New Year's eve so party on!

Marco Mengoni is already hard at work with second album of his work Parole in circolo, but after his sold out tour he keeps selling. The album or first part has sold 3xplatinum and the first single Guerriero even 4xplatinum. Second and third singles  Essere umani  and   Io ti aspetto have also reached platinum status. The latest one has also been remixed by various DJs and an EP with 12 versions has been released for the summer parties. Can't wait for the second part of this work.... later this year. 

Marco Mengoni's new album Parole in circolo was released a bit over a week ago but it has already sold gold in Italy. The first single Guerriero meanwhile has been certified double platinum and its video has been viewed over 11 million times. His success hasn't but grown since his Sanremo 2013 win and Eurovision song contest later that spring. At the moment his already recording the follow up album, the second part of this project to be released later this year. He will be also touring Italy in May, starting from Mantova May 5 and ending in Conegliano on May 23 for now. The tour is selling well and selling out, he already had to add an extra concert in Milan! His new album has been playing non-stop in this household for a few days now and it's very good. Not one bad song, any of them could stand out as a single. The production and sound is very similar to the latest Giorgia album, which is only a good thing. :-)

Marco Mengoni releases tomorrow his new album Parole in circolo , that follows the success of mulitplatinum selling #Prontopercorrere album's several hits and the first single of this album, Guerriero that became a top-4 most selling single in Italy in 2014 despite being released only in mid-November. Indeed it's one of the best songs that came out of Italy last year. Needless to say this new album sounds fantastic, different from the previous one but in a good way. Can't wait to hear it fully.
