Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Marco Mengoni's year has been a real journey, and this "viaggio" will be featured in a DVD that will be released on November 12, 2013. The journey starts by winning Sanremo 2013, followed by over 100.000 copies sold of the single L'Essenziale , over 90.000 of the album #prontoacorrere and leading up the magnificent concert held in Sicily, in Taormina's Teatro Antico during the triumphant L'Essenziale Tour. And the cover image of the DVD matches very nicely the Greek cultural heritage of the theatre; it's a mosaic of photos sent by his fans, their faces. Looks fantastic! #prontoacorrereilviaggio will be shown for the first time in cinemas all over Italy on November 6, 2013 at 20.30.

Namely his new video Non passerai , in anteprima in Corriere della Sera 's website has broken all the previous records of views. The video will be on his official VEVO tomorrow. Meanwhile his gig in Sicily, in Taormina's Teatro Antico (7th century BC) was filmed for a DVD release later on. The stage setting of Mengoni's tour, designed by Mamo Pozzoli featuring nine LED colonnas fit in perfectly with the Greek-Roman ruins. Can't wait to see that!  The day after in Palermo his fans surprised him when he was singing Non passerai, cardbox boxes and hearts just like in his video materialized out of nowhere! There's no doubt what is the hottest thing in Italy this season. Marco Mengoni. His tour continues from sold out triumph to another, his esercito of fans following him everywhere, waiting for him outside hotel and theaters screaming like it was Beatles all over again.... Mengonimania indeed! His Eurovision entry has become a real sing-a-long song as everyone sings along, leaving him at times to only stand and watch visibly moved.... like here in Padua. Eurovision has been good to Marco Mengoni. Already for the second day in a row he has been the most downloaded Italian artist in the world - after Andrea Bocelli. Considering he was pretty unknown outside Italy just weeks ago this is a great result and maybe a start of something big. He has recorded already songs in both English and in Spanish and will most likely follow other big Italian names to the Latin market... Meanwhile in Italy he is continuing his L'Essenziale tour that was interrupted by the Eurovision circus in Malmö 2013. Tonight he's in Florence.... This is fantastic! If Marco Mengoni will perform this smiley and overjoyed version of his entry L'Essenziale in Malmö 2013 Eurovision  and is looking at the camera this loving way he will surely give something to think about to the other contestants and send the superfavorites to do some soul searching! Yes, you read right. While the other artists are getting ready to leave for Malmö or arriving already, Italian represent Marco Mengoni kicks of his tour tomorrow night in Civitanova Marche (MC) in Teatro Rossini at 21.30. He has been in town for several days already prepairing for the event and hunted by fans that try to get a glimpse of him around his hotel or the concert venue. The concert has been sold out for ages and fans have been trying to get hold of the track list but all is kept top secret until the live event. Mengoni had to send a message to the fans waiting outside doors: ""Marco prega l’esercito di non rovinarsi la sorpresa del concerto sostando in prossimità del teatro. Ps: Baci a tutti" (Marco asks the fan army not to hang around the venue and spoil the surprise of the concert for themselves. Ps. Kisses to all). Marco Mengoni was in video chat this afternoon with RaiUno's TG1 and among other things revealed his next single will be the title track, Pronto a correre , from his new album. He said it was logical choice to have an up tempo song to follow a ballad.  And guess what? it's written by Take That's Mark Owen and there's also the English demo version, Put the light on . he also confessed being a big fan of The Beatles and surprisingly thinks he sshares a lot with Edith Piaf in character! People in the chat asked mainly about the coming tour, and complimented him for the multiplatinum single and the album that was certified gold just today. The questions about Eurovision like when the 3 minute version will be released where passed quickly. Marco Mengoni's new album #prontoacorrere debuted in the Italian charts at #1 and has already certified nultiplatinum. His Anteprima L'essenziale Tour has sold out already the dates in Milan and Rome, L'essenziale , his Eurovision 2013 entry sits firmly at #1 in the single's chart for the 6th week, and re-enters #1 in iTunes and is about to break previous records of staying on top of that chart of any song and the song remains on top in radio station charts as well. The video has been viewed over 10 million times... How essential is Eurovision success after all this?

More Mengoni news for you. His Sanremo winner L'essenziale has been viewed over 4 million times on Vevo already, and the single has sold platinum in Italy. L'essenziale is also #1 in downloads followed by his another song Non passerai at #2, that was released ahead of the album.
