Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Sweden  took the stage for first this morning. Last night they have had extra rehearsal trying to get the glass breaking work and it seems like a tricky thing. This morning apparently it did work out - but at wrong time... Will they get it work right ever? That put aside Eric was vocally better, the dancing was ok and he was also wearing the same leather jacket he did in Melodifestivalen. But in overall Sweden is still not fixed and we have to wait til Monday's dress rehearsals to see if this will be ever ready.... Maybe there's a lesson to learn to everybody here? Cyprus   is back to casual cloathes and concentrating on other things this time and yes, it's another amazing performance. The leading trick looks fabulous, especially when the back screen follows their movements and even the screamer lady fits in like a glove. Maybe the biggest positive surprise of the season and I hope they will qualify! It's a little bit a twist of fate that the only group that walks to ...

Now this is a nice surprise. I expected nothing and got a very nice staging instead. The leaning shoes already used by Sakis are working wonders for this Cypriot entry. Christos and his backing singers are all delivering a powerful thing and Cyprus is also the first one to use the little stage in the end of catwalk. The dreadful screamy woman has been put there to scream with her swinging balls. Only the back screen is maybe a bit disturbing with all things floating around like in a storm.... the swinging balls are nice though.  All of sudden Cyprus is final material - but will they make it? Germany - Lena - Taken by a stranger *** This is risky business for Germany and Lena as she sings. First of all the song may result very strange and without any memorable hook for the first time listeners, and secondly how many televoters will think "she won last year, let someone else win now"? For me this song is like a piece of soap. Every time I think I get it it slips away again. I kinda like it when I hear it but forget it the second the song ends. Not a good sign. Cyprus - Christos Mylordos - San angelos s'agapisa *** I like this very much until the lady starts screaming and the beat goes thundering. But maybe there's a reason for that. Great that they sing in Greek and the song has a feel of identity and Cyprus didn't go for an easy Europop this time. I guess this is a good example of a song that will all stand on its live performance: if it is nailed they might reach the final, if it is not convincing ... no final. Qualifier: With some luck.   Iceland...

Cyprus joins the club and presents its song. Christos Mylordos was chosen as the singer already last year and seems like there haven't really been high hopes put on his shoulders and the song? Christos Mylordos was chosen to represant Cyprus in the coming Eurovision already half a century ago but now we have a song for him: Σαν άγγελος σ’ αγάπησα or San Aggelos s'agapisa or I loved you like an angel .  The song will be presented in the end of February.

Christos Mylordos has just won the Peformance talent show and will fly the Cypriot flag in Germany 2011. Watch him give a very uninspired performance of Robbie Williams Love supreme here .
