LORDI DIVORCE: WOULD YOU STILL LOVE A MONSTER MAN?

Mrs Lordi (or Johanna Askola-Putaansuu) did love her monsterman. Maybe she still does but the couple has filed for divorce last November. According the law they can file for the second phase after six months, that is already passed but neither of them has signed the final papers yet.  Strangely the media got hint of that only this summer and this blogger, too. Johanna was in Athens and you can see her cheering along with the band in the greenroom for those douze points rolling in. The couple married in August 2006 in Rovaniemi.

KATRI HELENA GETS A STREET NAMED AFTER HER, A NEW ALBUM, A BOOK, A MUSEUM?

Katri Helena is a real legend and still going strong. To celebrate her 50th anniversary in show business her native home town Tohmajärvi has decided to name its main street Katri Helenan raitti . It replaces the old names Kauppakatu and parts of Kirkkotie, being about 1,1 km long. The renaming will take place during Potsipäivät, the village fest this summer, on June 28, 2014. Katri Helena will be present obviously, and will treat the people of Tohmajärvi with a free open air concert the night before.  A museum of her career is also planned and she has promised to donate some stuff herself.  Who knows if the dresses she wore in Eurovisions in Jerusalem 1979 and Millstreet 1993 will end up there? Katri Helena has just finished a tour of over 30 concerts celebrating her 50 years in business. The tour started in October 2013 and was mostly sold out. She will release a book and a new album, both titled Taivaan tie on April 12. A very fitting title as it translates t...

Mr Lordi gets gold... and a piece of land!

The Dark floors DVD has sold gold in Finland so the good news is that if people didn't go to see it in movies at least they will gladly watch it at home! The DVD includes also footage from the world premier in Oulu. Also, Mr Lordi or Tomi Putaansuu finally gets the promised piece of land from the city of Rovaniemi. He will build a house there. The chosen land lies about 20 kilometers from the center of Rovaniemi to the south in the village of Muurola. The city of Rovaniemi quickly renamed its main square as Lordi Square after the Eurovision win. The new yet unnamed album will be released October 20, 2008. The previous album The Arockalypse including the Eurovision winning song Hard rock hallelujah has sold 350.000 copies worldwide gaining gold records in Sweden and Germany and triple-platinum in Finland. The new album will be much rockier than melodic The Arockalypse and the band will have, as usual, new masks for the new album! Watch the latest video here: http://www.youtube.c...
