Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Nathan Trent is treating us this summer. After the Italian version of Running on air , here comes the Spanish one but not only the lyrics have been translated, the whole song got a makeover in arrangements and production to fit the Spanish summer mood. Have a listen...

Better late than never. Nathan flirted with the Italian version of Running on air already during Eurovision song contest 2017 in Kyiv but here it is now in all its glory. Enjoy!

One of Nathan Trent's backing singers and friends, Florian sent us this lovely message. But who is Florian? Let's copy-paste from Nathan's website: Florian Sebastian Fitz Florian is a 25 years old Actor, Singer and Songwriter who is currently living and working in Vienna, where he studied Musical Theater at the MUK Wien – together with Nathan. During his studies he appeared in a couple of short movies, musicals and plays. Also he managed to get himself an acting/modeling agency in Vienna. That way he made the jump from the stage to the screen and got his first minor role in an Austrian television film called “TATORT -Grenzfall” (director: Rupert Henning). Most recently he appeared in the Musical “Mozart” at the Shanghai Culture Square Theatre (director: Robert Wann). At the moment Florian is working on a big project with his brother. The Band is called “F I T Z” and they are going to release their debut single and video “Head in the Clouds” on September 1st, 201...

Nathan sings very well and the staging is cute. Dark night turns into purple skies and pink tomorrow. Colors turn into blue while clouds walk by and dry ice fills the floor and Nathan gives us some hippety hip moves. The finale has him walking on air literally, or so it seems. Some more dry ice is needed perhaps to make it look right.... Very good. I'm warming to this big time. I thought this was a borderline qualifier but I'm starting to think this will qualify without problems and will do well even in the final.

  Everybody seems to love Nathan and indeed he seems to have a likable personality and he sells his song well and the staging is simple but very memorable. He's on stage alone with his half moon, that recalls the Little Prince while the backdrop reminds of Zoe's psychedelic garden's sky minus the psychedelia. The finale of the song is apparently him walking on air literally - as soon as they fix the cameras and the dry ice. I was ready to write this off but I may have to rethink about that...

Pictured is national flower of Austira, Edelweiss Austrian TV chosen Nathan Trent internally while he was running to represant Germany. The searching team in charge noticed his debut single and thus asked him to submit another song. They heard Running on air he had written with Bernhard Penzias and the deal was done. Nathanaele Koll (25) aka Nathan Trent has Austrian father, a violinist in the Tiroler Symphonieorchester Innsbruck and Italian mother. Nathan has studied violin and piano since he was 3 years old, and has starred in many musicals, and in theater since childhood. He has also participated in various contests, including the German X Factor as a member of Boyz II Hot in 2011. His debut single Like it is was released last summer. This is one of the songs I'd love to like a lot more. He's likable, has a nice voice and the song is not the typical Eurovision song but a solid groovy pop song. But even if it's a very pleasant three minutes it's a kind...

Austria's the one that got Spotified this year following the previous leaks in Finland and Denmark in the years before. Nathan Trent's Running on air won't be a surrise anymore when it will be launched officially tomorrow. And how it is? Pleasant to listen, the original "nice". It's a bit unoriginal, easily forgettable, more of a nice album track than a lead single and I doubt it will set the voting lines on fire come May.
