ESC 2017: THE PROMOS HAVE ARRIVED ON EBAY.....

The mostly illegal selling of Eurovision promos have again invaded eBay. Who is so stupid to pay these prices? And thanks to these people there are every year less and less promos available anyways.....  EBU should for once and all identify these sellers and ban them from future events. Talk about shooting oneself in the foot.....

ESC 2015: THE PROMO BUSINESS CONTINUES ON EBAY

Like every year, some "fans" and even delagates have misunderstood the purprose of the Eurovision promos, and put them on sale in eBay even before the contest is over making illegal money. As illegal it is. Most of the promos are marked "Not for sale" and thus illegal to sell. I understand collectors who buy them but would you pay over 200 euros, or even 80 euros for promos that would normally sell at 5-10 euros (if released)?  Right now when writing this at eBay you have lots of Lithuanian and UK entries on sale but generally much fewer (so far) than before but then the trend has been in decline the past couple of years, also thanks to EBU's actions against it.  Many countries don't provide anymore so many promos as before for the same reason, and they are distributed better - not in the press conferences like before where the "fans" attacked them like starving wolfes. And it seems those on sale right now come from a very few sellers - should...

Armenia and Hungary reign on eBay

As we all know the Eurovision promos and singles find their way on eBay very quickly and the hunt starts. I admit I have bought stuff there as well as most of them still remain acceptable in price but some articles really get the money rolling in. I categorally refuse to pay more than 15-25 euros for one but hey, that's only me. Some people seem to be more avid collectors than me, or just richer, lol. (Anyone having spare copies for fair pay of Sweden, Armenia, Bulgaria, Romania, Portugal, Ireland, Latvia, Poland, Cyprus, Slovakia, Denmark, Azerbaijan, Greece, Ukraine, the Netherlands and Russia feel free to contact me :-) ) I have been following it a bit this year and here's the top-15 of the promos sold this year. I am sure it is far from complete but not very far from the truth either. Armenia has been making the most money here obviously to whoever managed to get the promo in Moscow. Hungary and Portugal are also very sought after and Israel is making solid money, too. I r...

The race for the promos has started: Israel $100

As every year fans fight and bother all PR people to get free promos and collectables for the Eurovision songs beforehand and real catfights will take place in Moscow's press conferences. Nothing wrong in that but there are always many who seem to make money with them, selling them with ridiculous prices on eBay and such and I don't think that's right. Well, on the other hand if someone is willing to pay those ridiculous prices.... who am I to judge? This year eBay features already several cd-singles, mostly those that have been already commercially available like The Netherlands and Finland but also Spain's promo only single has found its way there. Israel beats all of them however: 100 USD for the promosingle... Isn't that already a bit too much? There must be another way!
