Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Finally also available the full performances for The Big5 countries Italy and Germany and the Netherlands who voted and performed in the semi-final one rehearsals as well. Italy does come across very powerful indeed!

Today's already Day 8 in the Eurovision bubble in Rotterdam and it's time for the Big5+host to have their second rehearsal before things slow down in Ahoy before tomorrow's official opening ceremonies and the red carpet that is turquoise this year. Photos and videos lovingly stolen from eurovision.tv as always.  Italy is in top form despite the Finnish Blind Channel gave them a bottle of local vodka like Koskenkorva yesterday so their plan to get them drunk and mess up the rehearsal bombed. Just kidding. The Italian 70's glamrock androgyne explosion is much more popular than I ever thought they'd be. Last time Italy won when they had one of the rare entries I didn't really care for so is history repeating itself or is it only la gente purtroppo parla, non sa di che cosa parla? Meanwhile Italy has drawn to perform in the second half of the final. Germany and adorable Jendrik seem to have in the end taken a bit too big a bite as everyone comes out exhausted from...

Today also the Big5 and the Netherlands aka the host country had their first 30 minutes technical rehearsal.  Italy really challenges Finland with the use of pyros when they go for a simple but pure rock experience. Lead vocalist Damiano is shirtless and owns the stage in true Steve Tyler style. This rehearsal caused Italy take the lead in odds for a moment. To be honest, this is the first Italian entry since their return that I don't care so much for but I can appreciate the effort and hope for the best. I always stand for Italy and should they win with this I would not be zitti e buoni but yell it all the world to know. At the same time I'm in a quite weird situation as a Finn as these are the two entries that could eat each others votes and Italy being Italy most likely will take the longer straw in this game. Oh well, we'll see. I still prefer Finland but support both of them equally.  Germany I get, Iceland I don't. I love Germany. jendrik is such a force of nature...
