MONTENEGRO: SLAVKO KALEZIC WINS BARBARA DEX AWARD

The legendary Barbara Dex award for the Eurovision worst dressed season 2017 has been won by Montenegrin Slavko Kalezic as voted by fans all over Europe and beyond. His see through shirt, skin tights pants and darkblue dress was surely a sight.  Latvia's Triana Park came second and just like Slavko, this blogger thinks it was just a question of individual style and not worst dressed really.  The third place goes truly to a bad dress sense, Czech Republic's shapeless, ugly pantsuit that Martina Barta decided to wear. Bad choice and the real winner of this in my books, if we literally tink about "worst dressed".

CZECH REPUBLIC: IT'S MARTINA'S TURN TO SAY HELLO!

Martina Barta's got a morning message to you, it's her turn.

ESC 2017 KYIV - DAY 5: CZECH REPUBLIC SECOND REHEARSAL

What to say? Sadly this is so toilet break song. Nothing happens but she stands up and walks to the stage. That suit of hers is ugly, no going around that. The song doesn't go anywhere.  She's a good singer but that won't save this from the last place propably. Unless the juries throw her some points. Televoters have went to toilet, fridge or simply fallen asleep....

ESC 2017 KYIV - DAY 2: CZECH REPUBLIC FIRST REHEARSAL

The common comment for this seems to be yawn . Martina is in gold foil suit, and starts off sitting in the edge of the stage while the backdrop later features the humans from her video and colors changing from gold to purple to blue.  Then she gets up and walks the golden path to the centre stage and then nothing much else seems to happen. Static. Vocally she's on top, but it indeed is a long three minutes.... and that dress is just so wrong. Hopefully it isn't the One....

ESC 2017 REVIEW - CZECH REPUBLIC (34): MARTINA BÀRTA - MY TURN

Pictured is Czech Republic's national flower rose Martina Bàrta was internally chosen to represent Czech Republic this year. An open call was launched for the song and they received over 300 songs. Luckily they didn't pick up the most obvious, clichè Eurovision song but a song that suits her and is of the genre she usually performs. Respect for that! Martina (28) is Czech jazz vocalist, musician and she plays French horn. She has studied both music and medicine, until music took her away. She's done musical and been part of a German Jazz trio and today she's active in duo Scotch and Soda based in Berlin, where she graduated from the Jazz Institute. She also performs regularly with a big band as well as Prague Film Orchestra. Her sister Kristina is also a singer and so is her brother Václav. She certainly hopes to top his 13th place in the semifinal in 2015. Like I said earlier I give a high respect for Czechs for doing their own thing and not powing to s...

CZECH REPUBLIC: MARTINA BÁRTA PRESENTS MY TURN

Czech Republic's internally chosen Martina Bárta has released her entry My turn for the Eurovision as well today. Not sure if I managed to keep my attention level very high for very long when listening to it.... Shame.
