Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Montenegro's Montevizija was on last night but I was too busy in Sanremo to care. And I have missed nothing. Montenegro is famous for staging diasters and I can only wonder if D-Moll won only because they do have a prop? They were my least favorite of them all and hearing they have won can only be deescribed with one for: Disaster. The song is old and tired and the staging just lame. Truth to be said the only decent option for me was Ivana....  1. Open submission gave Montenegro 27 songs. Five made it to the 2nd round, among them Andrea Demirovic, Eurovision veteran from 2009 when heer song was written aby Ralph Siegel, this time she has written all alone her song. Ivana and Nina aree back from last year's selection. Among songwriters Eurovision 2007 winner Vladimir Graić.   Montenegro returns to good old Montevizija as national final format and these five songs are competing tonight, chosen among the 31 submissions. Songwriters of any nationality were welcome to submit songs but luckily the songs are local products, except one with the usual subjects... No full versions of the songs are available when writing this but only snippets (click below) and all songs sound worthy and it's hard to pick up a favorite based on those short ones, but it sounds like we are going to have a proper Balcan music in Lisbon anyways and that's all that matters. Montenegro is having a national final again and this time there will be only five acts competing for the ticket to Lisbon 2018 Eurovision. These have been picked out of 31 submissions aka applications for the job. The final will take place in Podgorica's Hilton hotel on February 17.
