#FINPOP 2023: (MORE UMK 2024 DROP OUTS?) REINO NORDIN, NUSH UNBRUSHED, NELLI MATULA, SEXMANE

Here are some more possible, rumored UMK submission that didn't make the cut. At least one seem to one for sure as they have said so themselves it seems: Nush Unbrushed. Then again, they could still be in with different entries, especially Nelly and Sexmane. Reino Nordin - Sydämet palamaan Nush Unbrushed - Army of lovers Nelli Matula - Skorpioni Sexmane - Hallille

MELODIFESTIVALEN = KISSING FESTIVAL

This year's Melodifestivalen may have been musically rather boring and average but has turned out to be rather entertaining if you like some male bonding. And we are not talking here simple hugs after qualification or such, but kissing! Even with some tongue action at times it seems. The culmination must have been (so far) the on stage kiss in dress rehearsals when Mattias Andréasson was playing the part of Tone Damli who was absent from her duet with Erik Segerstedt. The song Hello, goodbye nicely deals with a one night stand.... (If Erik and Tone ever kissed, I must have missed that.....) Sean Banan was kissing literaly everyone after his qualification but for example Anton Ewald, Christer Björkman himself and Måns Zelmerlöf shared some spit with him on camera.... Anton also fell victim of overjoyed Robin Stjernberg's kisses (and tongue) when they both qualified from the second chance round. Another couple doing some tongue action were Army of Lover's Alex...

YOHIO TO WIN MELODIFESTIVALEN?

The Melodifestivalen 2013, described as the worst ever in unison by everybody is coming to an end this Saturday.  Pre-contest favorites Army of Lovers rocketed out in fiasco so the field is left wide open to the other pre-contest favorite, Yohio . This 17-year-old creature took himself straight to the final from the first semifinal and has been patiently watching all the serious competition being voted out or failing in the second chance round last week. In Expressen he scored a 37% of the votes when the only lady left in the competition Louise Hoffsten was second with 15% followed by Ralf Gyllenhammar (14%), Ulrik Munther and Robin Stjernberg (8%), Ravaillacs and Anton Ewald (5%), Sean Banan and David Lindgren (3%) and State of drama last with 2%. I guess we can't rule Sean Banan out as he has topped some other polls and maybe David and Ulrik might have a chance, too.  This blogger agrees with this poll that Yohio will win but I wouldn't count Ralf out either. And...

LA CAMILLA GETS KICKED OUT OF ARMY OF LOVERS

Oh what drama! La Camilla has been kicked out of Army of LOvers with an open letter while La Dominika re-enters the group following the fiasco on Melodifestivalen. Some even suggest the whole affair was only to stop her doing Melodifestivalen with her own group and Alexander Bard writing a bad bad song on purpose! This is just what we need in this rather dull season so far. SCHLAGER DRAMA! Anyways, the letter makes a very entertaining read, or what do you think? Army Of Lovers declare Sainthood for Santa Camilla – and welcome La Dominika to center stage! Our Dearest Beloved Sister Camilla, Our Hundreds of Thousands of Fabulous Loyal Fans, and The Chosen Few of the Rest of You Out There in This Cold Cold World who dare to care Please accept our sincerest and most heartfelt gratitude for the hilarious months of joy and happiness we have shared with You, Our Beloved Sister, during studio recordings, rehearsals, therapy sessions, interviews, and performances in con...

ARMY OF LOVERS BACK TO THERAPY AFTER FIASCO

They were there to win, make a comeback and then spread homosexual propaganda all over Eastern Europe with their Rockin' the ride. Instead they ended 6th, out of even Second chance and laughed and critizied at. So is life sometimes. This blogger thinks the song wasn't just strong enough, the show somewhere between ridiculous and tasteless (even in AOL standards)  and La Camilla miming to the lines sung by a hidden backing singer. "I have never sung. We have always done it like this" says La Camilla explaining she could even sleep there on stage and no one would notice but "miming live is so difficult, even Beyoncé didn't manage it! " Ah, now we know! Britta Bergström was the backing singer called in to do La Camilla's parts when SVT informed them their backing track had too many pre-recorded vocals. (Just imagine them winning and going to Malmö, how would have that worked out?!) The future of Army of Lovers is now out in the open but La Camill...

MF 2013: ARMY OF LOVERS TOOK THE ROCKET RIDE OUT

Army of Lovers is out. And I'm not surprised. As much I like them the song just was 3 minutes of nonsense, lacking all the melody and the rest, too. Having la Camilla looking royal (wink wink) and sporting a cross in her crotch and Jean-Pierre in underwear just wasn't enough, especially when Robin Stjernberg had much more crotch action going on stage. In all the quality was once again rather low, or maybe the right word would be repetitive. Too many repetitive songs without much of an idea to last for 3 minutes. One of them being Ulrik's song that went to the final. I was pretty sure Ralf would make it to the final already today and well deserved so, despite blowing out more pyros that Lordi in a full concert. behrang came across trés sympa, as the French would say, Therese was pretty and boring, Sylvia managed to me classy and cheap at the same time and Lucia was very Adele-like somehow.  Ulrik Munther - Tell the world I'm here -> final Ralf Gyllenhammer - Be...

MELODIFESTIVAL 2013 - SEMIFINAL 4

What an earth has happened to Melodifestivalen? Has the euphoria turned into hangover this year as the songs seem so uninspired, boring, uninteresting and bland to say the least. The show itself is still on top level, but the songs... If one was hoping they saved the best for last and for this last semifinal unfortunately it isn't so. Army of Lovers is not really delivering (at least in thet one minute snippet), Ulrik Munther has been inspired by Paradise Oskar it seems for his stage presentation, Behrang Miri recycles the French entry of some years ago... olè! I guess Army of Lovers will take the straight rocket ride to the final with la Camilla who is seven million years old and Alexander Bard in his underwear (but without his fallos as he planned to)  but who will join them? Behrang? Therese? Ulrik? Even Sylvia (how popular is she egentligen?) or the other -hammar.  Will we have other rather shocking results as we have had so far? Army of Lovers - Rockin' the ride ...

MF 2013 - SEMIFINAL 1 RESULTS

Great show in Sweden, I have to say. The interval act and opening numbers with Gina Dirawi, Danny Saucedo, Kristian Look and ever wonderful Lena Philipsson were great, and the songs were as always well staged. And I'm not surprised Michael Feiner & Caijsa were out and finished 6th as it was rather horrible on stage. Jay-Jay Johanson's last place was no surprise, and even if I liked Anna Järvinen's song this is maybe not the place for it so it's 7th place was not a surprise either. But I was hoping for a miracle that didn't materialize. And I predicted the finalists Yohio and David Lindgren right so in the end it was all good and as expected. I think YOHIO will give a good run for Army of Lovers in final :-) YOHIO - Heartbreak Hotel - > final David Lindgren - Skyline - > final Cookies and Beanz - Burning flags -> 2nd chance Eric Gadd - Vi kommer aldrid att förlora -> 2nd chance 5.  Mary N'diaye - Gosa  6.  Michael Feiner & Cais...

ARMY OF LOVERS: WE WILL WIN AND SPREAD HOMOSEXUAL PROPAGANDA ALL OVER EASTERN EUROPE!

As we know by now, Army of Lovers are making a comeback in Melodifestivalen 2013. This doesn't please Camilla Henemark's band fellows and friends in Happy Hoes, Dominika Peczynski and Martin "Miss Inga" Johansson, who were also running for Melodifestivalen. "She simply dumped us as soon as there was a chance for Army of Lovers reunion" tells bitter Dominika (who was part of Army of Lovers previously as well) to anyone who's willing to listen. "She just wants to be the only diva!" La Camilla is quick to response: "For sure! Happy Hoes is just a nice hobby band. Army of Lovers are world stars. In Melodifestivalen we will have seven warm up acts and we will go to Eurovision. Then we will spread homosexual propaganda all over Eastern Europe! We will have one of the biggest ever show stoppers in Eurovision history! " The reunion took place when Alexander Bard and Jean-Pierre Barda wrote a song for Army of Lovers comeback in mind a ...

ARMY OF LOVERS AND MELODIFESTIVALEN SINGERS

The rumors were true and Army of Lovers have united - at least for the Melodifestivalen - and how ironic it would be if these three lovers, one of them the king's lover for real would fly the Swedish flag in Malmö 2013? Alexander Bard might have to deal it with his ex-band fellow Martin Rolinski in the final, Carolina af Ugglas returns and Tommy Körberg indeed tries again, but this time with a quartet of gentlemen. Ulrik Munther is there again as well, and Sylvia Vrethammar brings in some lady power. That might come useful as there seems to be slightly more male singers than females.... Semifinal 1, Karlskrona - February 2 Burning Flags - Cookies N Beans Gosa - Mary Ndiaye Heartbreak Hotel - YOHIO Paris - Jay-Jay Johansson Porslin - Anna Järvinen Skyline - David Lindgren Vi kommer aldrig att förlora - Eric Gadd Were Still Kids - Michael Feiner & Caisa Semifinal 2, Göteborg - February 9 Annelie - Joacim Cans Begging - Anton Ewald Copacabanana ...

CAMILLA & HAPPY HOES IN MELODIFESTIVALEN?

Camilla Henemark, ex- Army of Lovers , these days better known better as ex-Lover of the King (poor Silvia!) when the biography of the King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf came out last year and created a huge scandal . Camilla became the queen of scandals but now she strikes back. Together with Dominika Peczynski and Miss Inga (Martin Johansson) she forms the band Happy Hoes and has sent in a song and now are waiting for the news from Christer Björkman. Previously they have released Don't try to steal my limelight and   We rule the world . The band would surely bring Melodifestivalen some needed media fuss and speculation. We'll see..... (PS. Expressen claims she's got OK from SVT....)

Summer songs: Gravitonas - Call your name

Alexander Bard's new project is called Gravitonas fronted by singer Andreas Öhrn following the footsteps of likes of Army of Lovers, Vacuum and Bwo. Their latest effort Call your name has come out in an EP featuring 17 remixes, just in case they weren't sure which one worked best...

Carola over the rooftops: Woman in love

Carola was singing last night at the roof terrace of the Royal Opera of Stockholm as part of the pre-wedding celebrations. She did Barbra Streisand's Woman in love, a teaser from her coming Streisand-Presley concerts. She also did the song written for Victoria and Daniel, Det är bara vi . And here's a little interview where she talks about the duet with Daniel in Fångad av en stormvind in his bachelor party! Doesn't she look gorgeous here or what? Weddings suit her I guess... And here's less glamourous medley with her Melodifestivalen songs from Love Stockholm 2010.

BWO no more

BWO is no more for the time being. Martin Rolinski will go and try a solo career, while Alexander Bard continues his musical journey with Gravitonas with singer Andreas Öhrn. BWO lived from 2004 to 2010 and was born after Vacuum where Bard and Marina Schitjenko already worked together. Bard had even before that Army of Lovers. BWO of Bodies Without Organs took part in Melodifestivalen 4 times: Gone in 2005, Temple of love in 2006 (2nd), 2008 Lay your love on me (3rd) and You're not alone in 2009. Over the years they were also rumoured to be considering entering the national finals in Poland and UK but eventually never did. The band was also very popular in Finland, Ukraine and Russia.

Some Irish rumours: Niamh's comeback?

RTÉ is supposed to reveal the five finalist in the Irish final tomorrow, a month before the final where we will find out who's going to sing for Ireland in Oslo 2010. Some names have leaked already who are in the running. Boyzone guys Ronan Keating (who has also a song in the Danish final again) and Mikey Graham have both submitted a song. Ronan's would be sung by British Justin Lee-Collins while Mikey will sing his own song if selected. Last year's winners Niall Mooney and Swedish Jonas Gladnikoff are back, this time their song would be sung by the 1993 Eurovision winner Niamh Kavanagh. Other previous winners have also submitted songs: Brendan Graham (Eurovision 1993 and 1996 winner), Karl Broderick (Irish winner 2005), John Waters (Irish winner 2007). Swedish Alexander Bard (Army of Lovers, BWO etc) has also sent a song, so has LaGaylia Frazer (after not winning in Sweden and Romania previously). And yes, good old Ralph Siegel is back at it, too. He's aiming to gp for...
