ITALY: DAMIANO DAVID - BORN WITH A BROKEN HEART

Eurovision song contest winners Måneskin has been a center or split rumors - promptly denied by all members - after Damiano David and Victoria De Angelis both have released solo material and done their own thing.  The most attention is of course on lead man Damiano. He first released Silverlines , a moody ballad and out of the blue right after comes this wonderfully pastel colored Born with a broken heart where he really can showcase his showman and entertainer skills in true Hollywood musical style. Enjoy!

EUROVISION 2023: BLOGILKAR'S HOME JURY RANKING: #10 POLAND - BLANKA - SOLO

Here it is! The incorruptible, infallible and most reliable Blogilkar's Home Jury made of people in their teens, 20's, 30's, 40's and 50's, mainly Finnish and mainly those who turn into Eurovision only on that one Saturday night, enjoy the show and that's it. Most everyone heard the songs for the first time so this was a true first impression judgement. And thus they had no idea about the fan polls, betting odds and trivial information and expectations. And boy did they turn those pools and odds around mostly, sinking some major favorites and enjoying some real underdogs. I will countdown the full ranking day by day until we have our winner out just before Liverpool is in full swing. This year I publish very few comments or opinions. Just the average score (we voted 1 to 10). In short this year is considered a bit poor by the jurors compared to for example last year and it may show in the somewhat low scores. Anyways: Enjoy! 10. POLAND - Blanka - Solo  (Avg. 6,2...

EUROVISION 2023: BLANKA GOES SOLO FOR POLAND

Surprise! It's Blanka and her tropical pop Solo for Poland. The fandom may now have the meltdown I predicted in my previous post below. I'm feeling quite amused. Also because the jury ranked her first while what I could hear from the malfunctioning stream was that her vocals were equal to Benjamin's in UMK last night. But it's a fun addition to Liverpool line up instead of that fandom favorite - who would have stepped a bit on Käärijä's territory, too, so I have a double reason to be happy! Blanka Stajkow is 23-year-old Polish-Bulgarian model and singer.  Final results (jury + televote): 1. Blanka - Solo (12 + 10) 22 2. Jann - Gladiator (7 + 12) 19 3. Dominik Dudek - Be good (10 + 8) 18 4. Felivers - Never back down (8 + 6) 14 5. Yan Majeswki - Champion (4 + 7) 11 6. Alicja - New home (5 + 5) 10 7. Natasza - Lift u up (6 + 2) 8 8. Kuba - You do me (3 +  3) 6 9. Maja Hyzy - Never hide ( 2 + 4) 6 10. Ahlena (1 + 1) 2

FINLAND: SOFTENGINE AND SATIN CIRCUS GUYS GO SOLO: MEET TOPI LATUKKA AND PAUL ELIAS

Softengine scored the best Finnish finish in the Eurovision since Lordi's win with their Something better in Copenhagen 2014. They released their debut album, got good critic abroad and for a while it seemed they would actually make it and become world known band. Then September one of the guys left the band and they continued as foursome, releasing singles and promised two EPs to be released. One came, the other never. Then May 2017 another guy left and they were three... Then we haven't quite  heard of them until now: lead singer Topi Latukka has released his debut solo single (but the band still exists). In Finnish. Pehmeitä pintoi is a far cry from bands rocky pop and flirts with today's radio friendly trends and thus remains rather anonymous sadly.... The year after Satin Circus was in UMK and instantly became a fan favorite with Crossroads . They already gained popularity before UMK but sadly Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät run over them for all the wrong reasons...
