EUROVISION 2018 - SONGS THAT NEVER WERE: ALBIN FREDY - MUSIC FOR THE ROAD

Albin Fredy (or Swedish born Albin Ljungqvist came 3rd in the Danish national final for the Eurovision song contest 2018 with his country influenced Music for the road . He was my favorite there by far and surprise surprise I was a big fan of his Beautiful to me   back in 2013 as well.  Now waiting for him to become third time lucky!

DENMARK: RASMUSSEN BRINGS HIGHER GROUND TO LISBON

Denmark chose it's enty tonight. After the first round three songs made it to the superfinal. Danish televoteers and the jury were clearly not into plastic pop judging the three. And about the time, too! Must be the first time ever that in Denmark my three favorites make the top-3.... Scary.... But Albin was my top favorite but the Danish Vikings will take over Lisbon and conquer Europe. Maybe. Update 13.2: The writers of the songs made public this song was sent to Melodifestivalen 2018 and rejected. Recalls the 2010 when In a moment like this , another Mello reject, finsihed 4th while Sweden didn't even make the final with their winner... Let's see if the history repeats itself :-) Ditte Marie — Riot Anna Ritsmar — Starlight   31% Rasmussen — Higher Ground   50% Sannie — Boys on Girls Sandra — Angels to My Battlefield Lasse Meling — Unfound CARLSEN — Standing Up for Love KARUI — Signals Rikke Ganer-Tolsøe — Holder fast i ingenting Albin...

DENMARK: LISTEN TO THE DMGP 2018 ENTRIES

Denmark has also released their finalists today. The songs have been selected by experts at DR, and they have chosen 10 different types of songs: The song with power chorus (1), the nice & sweet song (2), the viking musical (3), the sexy song (4), the strong lyrics (5), the crispy voice (6), the new OG3NE sisters (7), the strange rhythm (8), the Danish song (9), the country song (10). I have serious doubts Denmark will be among my favorites this year either. If Albin or Rasmussen wins, then maybe.....  Ditte Marie – Riot Anna Ritsmar – Starlight Rasmussen – Higher Ground Sannie – Boys on Girls Sandra – Angels to My Battlefield Lasse Meling – Unfound Carlsen – Standing Up For Love KARUI – Signals Rikke Ganer-Tolsøe – Holder Fast i Ingenting Albin Fredy – Music for the Road

ESC 2016 SWEDEN: ANDRA CHANSEN ROUND TONIGHT

After four semis of Melodifestivalen it's time for the Andra chansen aka Second chance round in Sweden. Songs that placed 3rd and 4th are mixed up here against each other and the winner of each duel continues to the final next week. And this must be the lowest standard of songs ever and as only the winner qualifies for the final things get even more complicated. I kinda like a bit Boris, and then the last duel - for all the wrong reasons. Sadly only one can go further and I hope it's Dollys instead of guys... even if I don't think they can beat those muscles. Qualifiers and losers updated Panetoz - Håll om mig hårt Vs Molly Pettersson Hammar - Hunger Albin & Mattias - Rik Vs. Boris Rene - Put your love on me Isa - I will wait Vs. SaRaha - Kizungukunzu Dolly Style - Rollercoaster Vs. Samir & Viktor - Bada nakna

ESC 2016 SWEDEN: MELODIFESTIVALEN SEMIFINAL ONE TONIGHT

Host country kicks off its six week Melodifestivalen marathon tonight. Can they pull out another Eurovision winner? Who will take the metro to Globen from home instead of travelling to somewhere else? Fans are having multiple orgasms just because it's Sweden but let's calm down: it's only a national selection like any other.... The first semi is filled with songs in Swedish, the comeback gone wrong by Anna Book, superfavorite Ace Wilder and even two male duos..... And after hearing the rehearsal clips all I can say is Yawn . So much for so little. Really. It will be a great show for sure but.... well, Robin B sounded a bit promising though. Samir & Viktor - Bada nakna (2nd Chance) Pernilla Andersson - Mitt guld 6th Mimi Werner - Ain't no good 5th Albin & Matias - Rik (2nd Chance) Anna Book - Himmel för två Robin Bengtsson - Constellation prize (FINAL) Ace Wilder - Don't worry (FINAL) Anna Book was disqualified once the rehearsal sni...

DENMARK. HOW INVINCIBLE, UNBREAKABLE THEY ARE?

Danish TV has put the full songs online and this blogger takes a moment to listen them through. As usual a very strong line up in Denmark, and I am repeting myself but usually the Danish entries I like a lot don't do well in Eurovision, and the other way round. Let's see how it goes this year! By hearing only the songs are very hard to judge, as I like most of them. Or let me rephrase that: I can listen them without problems and wanting to turn them off after a minute as usually happens with most of the national selection songs - all those hundreds of them a true fan and blogger has to hear every winter. The live performance and staging can kill a song, or make it stand out so I think the competition is that department is more crucial than ever this year. There is no clear favorite it seems and it all comes down to those three minutes this Saturday... I had two clear favorites in the end.... or maybe three. Listen yourself here . 1. Frederikke - Jeg har hele tiden vidst d...
