Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

The rumors about the possible Serbian name for Malmö 2013 are also running wild. And as Serbia is one of my favorite Eurovision countries let's have a look who has been named and proposed so far.  Nataša Bekvalac is an artist, model and actress and has been around for over a decade now. Her biggest hits include Nikotin , Dopro moje and Pozitivna . Emina Jahovic or Emina Sandal as she is married to Turkish megastar Mustafa Sandal (who I'd love to see represent Turkey btw) was rumored next. She's no stranger to Eurovision having participated in the national finals already in 2002 and 2010, and many other contests in the ex-Yogoslavian area where she has a name. Her songs include Da mogu , Posle mene and Beograd prica . Eurovision 2007 winner Marija Serifovic was rumoured at some point as well until she declared herself she's not going to be the one. Now another name has emerged,  Saša Kovačević . He has released two albums and several singles ...

As usual the rumours in Turkey have been running wild for weeks or months already - except the annual Tarkan for Turkey! Where is it this year? - and while names have been announced and denied by artists or TRT or just proved false TRT has now revealed its top-5 names they would like to have representing the country in Baku 2012: Atiye Deniz , Hande Yaner , Sebnem Ferah , Murat Boz and Erhan Güleryüz/Ayna . As we know Hande Yaner and "the tallest pop star in the world" Murat Boz have already expressed their uninterest for the job that leaves Atiye and Sebnem as front runners but then, they can also say no. If these claims are true the Turkish name should be announced mid-January, should the negotiations fail we may have to wait a bit longer. Or on the other hand, this may be or not be the TRT's working list. Who knows who they are really searching for as also last year's name was a total surprise to everyone (this said, they missed the final for the first time when ...

TRT launched an email voting for the fans to name their favourite singer for Turkey in Oslo 2010 some time ago and apparently these four names were the most voted for: maNga , the band that won the MTV Europe music award 2009 for Europe's favourite act, Armenian-Turkish alternative rock star Hayko Cepkin , Emre Aydin who won the same MTV Europe award maNga did a year before, singer-song writer Sebnem Ferah and pop singer Murat Boz . TRT is now negotiating with the artists in question - all of them mentioned many times the past couple of years as possible entrants, or wished for - and also trying to figure out what kind of an act would do in 2010: male, female or a band. If this top-4 turns out true it is quite remarkable Tarkan is not on it.... and why no one ever mentions Mustafa Sandal ?
