Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

It's not every day a Finnish artist appears in the UK charts but Alma is there now with Chasing highs and follows Hanoi Rocks (#61), Softengine (#93), Lordi (#25) and Top-10 ones Darude , The Rasmus and Bomfunk MC . That's just about it. Can't remember any others. She's at #45 this week in the official singles charts and going up.  In Finland she took part in Idols 2013 but was voted out as 5th-7th (along with Zühlke, UMK2017's runner up). In years between she has matured to one of the most interesting voices of the decade and Finns are expecting great things from her.... Last year she was awarded with Emma award (local Grammy) as the Newcomer of the year and also with a special Export Emma. Her previous singles Karma and Dye my hair have also had some international chart action. She's also featured in Felix Jaehn's Bonfire and Sub Focus' Don't you feel it . 

Costello Hautamäki is best knows as the guitarist of Popeda , one of the most popular Finnish rock bands but he has also played in Hanoi Rocks and Sleepy Sleepers among other bands. His solo career includes so far two English language albums ( A little bit crazy 1988 and 13 reasons to rock 2003) and he's also active s a writer, producer and writes music also for Tv-series. Recently he has had a minor radio hit with Aurinko nousee and now he makes himself better known as a Finnish singing rock singer with this Matkalla tuntemattomaan , written by Jonne Aaron of Negative! the song is a melodic pop rock, and surely will find fans among those who like Popeda......

The highly succesful reality format Voice of (insert country here) will start also in Finland this fall. It looks very promising as the couches will be Paula Koivuniemi, Michale Monroe, Lauri Tähkä and Elastinen. Axl Smith will be the host. The show is very simple; first the coaches only hear the singer, thus The Voice, and can decide if they want that voice in their team. They each pick up eight singers and coach them to reach their best. Duels drop artists and in the end there is only one voice left.... Sounds quite promising!
