Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

It seems Laura Pausini has had to say "No" to Sanremo hosting again just like the past two years. That woman is just too busy touring the world! As soon as the news broke and her "certaintity" is gone in the rumour mill Italian press has gone wild reporting other ideas Carlo Conti may or may not have in mind. The most interesting and surprising one is that of Barbara D'Urso , leading lady in the competing Mediaset channels. That would be a wise move (and it wouldn't be the first time this tactic has been used) attracting her fans to Raiuno as well. This blogger approves, she's funny and professional. The other names include Miriam Leone , a web celebrity and a celebrity girlfriend (Fedez's). Chiara Ferragni , an actress both on silverscreen and television and another actress Sveva Alviti . This morning there has been an explosion in a Villa della Rosa where actor and Sanremo 2016 co-host Gabriel Garko has been staying in Solaro while prepairing for the festival. Apparently half the building collapsed and a dead body of an old lady has been found. Garko is under shock and has been taken to hospital. Sanremo 2016 is set to kick if next Tuesday, February 9, 2016.

Yesterday was a busy day in the Eurovision world but also in Italy something was going: the official press conference to present the co-hosts and the Italian guest stars. Last year Carlo Conti surprised everyone when he announced previous winners Emma and Arisa as his co-hosts but now it's back to more traditional. Or not quite: for the first time there will be a male co-host, actor Gabriel Garko. He's way to the fame is though quite similar to many female stars: He was crowned Il piú bello d'Italia in 1991, or Mr Italy. Fom photoshoots the step was short to movies and he's most famous maybe for Senso '45 directed by Tinto Brass where he appeared full-frontal. He also did a sexy calendar for Max magazine.
