Germany has picked the five finalists for the national final. They decided to go back to the newcomer thing after failing big time with big names. Two last places in a row is not easy to get but Germany did it.... These five newcomers are hoping to become a new Lena (who's in the jury btw) and have been chosen amongst 2000 applications. It's worth remembering they were first cut to 33 - among then Nathan Trent who was then picked by ORF for Austria! Now ARD will look suitable songs for these five from German and foreign top producers and writers. Axel Maximilian Feige (28) from Hamburg started playing piano att rha age of 5.
