Amadeus did it again! Or he outdid himself. Sanremo 2024 started with a bang. Record breaking shares and viewing figures. 65,1% share! That's highest since 1995. Or 10.561.000 viewers in average. The first part was 64,34% or 15.075.000 viewers in average and the second part 66,85% or 6.527.000, mind you the show ended around 2am, actually before than scheduled! Now that's a record, too! The most viewers had Annalisa's performance with 16,5 million viewers in front of their television that time. The highest share was during Mahmood's performance in the first half (69,2%) and Bigmama's performance at 00.15 in the second part: 70,13% In social media hashtag #sanremo2024  was used over 1,4 millio times during the show and the most mentioned there was Marco Mengoni with 212.000 hits followed my Mahmood with 181.000.  And let's not forget his success as creating hits as well, last year is a good example, read more here .

EUROVISION 2023: RECORD BREAKING VIEWING FIGURES IN FINLAND: 2,8 MILLION!

The hype was in the air for Käärijä's chances to win Eurovision song contest 2023. And it shows also in viewing figures: 1.264.000 (78%) for the first semi-final, all time record. Taking account the grand final that usually gathers a lot more viewers it's the 7th most watched Eurovision final or semi-final since 1999. The record is obviously Helsinki 2007 Eurovision final with 1.905.000 (83%). I have a feeling we will break that next Saturday. Ladies and gentlemen: 2,8 million Finns reached out and tuned in to watch the show on television or various Yle's platforms. The average was 1,7 million while over 800.000 views were started online in Yle Areena. (And how many we will get still today for those few who didn't stay yp and watch last night? Or re-watch it today?). Last year the average was 1,07 million with total reach of 2,1 million.   The fever was high also in 2006 when Lordi won. 1.479.000 (75%) gathered in front of their tv-screens. But in spring 2006 there was ...

ESC 2016: SOME RANDOM FACTS OF THE 2016 EDITION

Belgium proves that when it qualifies, it's a success. 6 th , 12 th , 4 th , 10 th . In short: send a good one or a total crap, no need to get 20 th  something places. Same goes for Bulgaria . If you make it, make it good. 5 th  and 4 th  in the final. All the other failures to qualify. Czech Republic on the other hand shared San Marino's (2014) fate: once you finally qualify it's at the bottom. 24 th  and 25 th.  And that leaves us only with Andorra as the only participating country that has never been in the final..... Big 5s Spain (22nd), United Kingdom (24 th ) and Germany fail again (26th). Germany last for the second year in a row..... Just imagine Australia won and the contest went to Germany for real - backed up by two last places! Ukraine wins without winning neither televote nor jury vote. If the last year's voting system was still in use, Australia would have won. Sergey Lazarev does Il Volo, wins televote b...
