Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Il Volo's Notte Magica concert featuring the original Three Tenors Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras featured will be shown in the cinemas across Finland on June 7, 2017. Movie theaters in Helsinki, Espoo, Jyväskylä, Kuopio, lahti, Lappeenranta, Oulu, Pori, Tampere and Turku will be showing this one off concert extravacanza.  Meanwhile the trio has started the Italian leg of their world tour and are in Rome this weekend. The tour continues from May 23 from London to Malta, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Spain, POland, Austria and Bulgaria before moving in South America in September. Apparently they are also working on a new pop album that is produced by Emilio Estevez!

Italian trio has released their new album, a tribute to the original three tenors with a special guest appearance by Placido Domingo. The concert this summer in Florence's Piazza Santa Croce with an audience of 6000 was such a success they decided to release the whole event as a CD and a Deluxe version 2CD+DVD.  Next spring a new world tour will start that will bring these arias everywhere.  The original Three tenors happened 26 years ago in Rome's Terme di Caracalla with Placido Domingo, José Carreras and Luciano Pavarotti. 

It's been 26 years since the legendary concert by the three most famous tenors of our time - Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo and José Carreras - in Terme di Caracalla in Rome. Now it's Il Volo's turn to recreate the magic with Placido Domingo himself in Piazza Santa Croce in Florence, on July 1, 2016. The orchestra of Teatro Massimo in Palermo will be their "band" directed by Ramon Tebar. You can expect classic Napoletan and Italian songs, opera arias, musical tunes with some international standards. This is a one night only event so if you can go, this blogger suggests: Go!  If not, the show is being filmed and recorded so most likely a live CD and/or DVD will follow... and a tv broadcast some time in the future.  Il Volo is also touring Europe after Northern and Latin Americas at the moment but more about that later. Italian musical genius Lucio Dalla has died today in Switzerland. An unexpected stroke took him away. Just last month he did a come back to Sanremo where he performed with Pierdavide Carone in Nani , a song he also wrote and conducted the orchestra in. His first album came out in 1966 and the latest, his 40th in 2010. If you don't know who he is just listen to Caruso . He wrote it and originally sung it. Later it has been covered by most everyone from Luciano Pavarotti to Anna Oxa , Florent Pagny , Lara Fabian , and Il Divo . His other wellknown hits include Attenti al lupo , 4 Marzo 1943 ,  L'anno che verrá and   Canzone .  He also wrote the Italian Eurovision entry Occhi di ragazza in 1970 for Gianni Morandi. He had just started a tour and gave a concerts in Luzern and Zurich before last night's Montreaux. The tour was to continue to more dates in Switzerland, then to Germany, France and Luxembourg.
