Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

While waiting the annual rumors of Sergey Lazarov, one of the Spice Girls, Mihai Traistariu and others emerge again we have a new entry: Dotan for the Netherlands. He was heavily rumoured already last year ( read more here ) and now the Dutch media is again "sure" AVROTROS wants him while either of the parties comments in any way. Maybe this time around he is hungry for Eurovision as one of his most recent singles suggests? Let's wait and see if he will be the very first known act for Stockholm 2016 Eurovision?

Romania will take place in the Baku 2012 Eurovision after all and the national selection is planned for March 10, 2012. And guess what, TVR has published a list of those names that they would like to see taking part. So far we know Mihai Traistariu seems rather desperate to get to the Eurovision spotlight again. Other names include everything from Alexandra Stan to Edward Maya , Akcent  and Dan Balan . I guess we can't expect entries from them... Several names besides Traistariu would be welcomed back by TVR like Elena Gheorge, Hotel FM, Luminita Anghel, Marcel Pavel, Natalia Barbu, Nico and Ovi along with an endless list of previous national finalists like Blaxy Girls, Catalin Josan and Costi Ionita. Let's see who swallows the hook and tries again! The summer rumours are running wild and some are just making them up to get some attention and who am I to deny it from them? A few days ago Kate Ryan announced she'd like to return. Her Eurovision trip went all wrong last time in 2006 with Je t'adore , from a hot favourite to a non qualifier. Another returner might be Charlotte Perrelli who was far from a hero on her return from the second time in 2008 even if the first trip as Nilsson in 1999 did take her to heaven . Mihai Tristariu promised already back in 2006 he will return and indeed, this news is out there every year. Just like Dima Bilan.

The big Eurovision party organized by OGAE Portugal takes place in Setúbal's Auditório José Afonso, Portugal tonight. Eurovision winner 1986 Sandra Kim will be there along with Eurovision stars Hera Björk, Jakob Svaistrup, Karolina, Hanna Pakarinen, Michael von der Heide, Mihai Traistariu, Anabel Conde, Filipa Azevedo, Fridrik Omar, Nucha with several national finalists from Portugal and Spain including Coral. Sounds like fun! How about Portugal, will it finally win with its 45th entry in 2011? It has way passed the record by Finland that won by its 40th entry in 2006.

Hanna Pakarinen will join the other artists already confirmed - Hera Björk, Michale von der Heide, Mihai Traistariu, Anabel Conde, Filipa Azevedo, Fridrik Omar, Coral, Nucha and several other Portuguese artists - in September in Portugal's Eurovision party. Way to go, girl!
