Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

The 76th Sanremo festival continues tonight. The Newcomers will kick of the evening with two duels with the winners going to the final. The voting is the holy threesome: Press, web and tv (33%), Radio (33%) and televote (34%). Half of the Big artists will perform again and are voted by Radio (50%) and televote (50%). Again the Top-5 will be announced in random order. Co-hosts are Pilar Fogliati, Achille Lauro and Lillo. Bresh will perform outside Teatro Ariston in Suzuki stage and Max Pezzali again on the cruise ship.. Apparently Eurovision veteran Fausto Leali will be present and receive a life time award. The first night was watched by 9,6 million viewers with share of 58% compared to last year's 12,6 million so 3 million viewers  were lost. The peak was 15.782.000 during the 105 year old lady's interview while the biggest share 64,5% during Leo Gassmann's performance. The second Sanremo 2025 night will feature the Newcomers semifinals (or rather duels) and half of the Big will perform again. The Top-5 voted by the accredited press of the first night was Brunori Sas, Giorgia, Lucio Cordsi, Simone Cristicchi and Achille Lauro - in random order - pictured above. Tonight's co-hosts are supermodel Bianca Balti, celebrity personality Cristiano Malgioglio and actor/comedian Nino Frassica.  Update: Ma Bianca Balti è Michele Hunziger in disguise? Last night 15 acts performed and the voting was 50-50 by radios and televoters and the ranking went all upside down on the top: Geolier first, Irama second. Annalisa, Loredana Berté and Mahmood managed to keep their Top-5 going on.  The Fantasanremo thingy is getting very annoying as the artists are collecting points by wearing black, sunglasses, giving flowers to conductors, kissing people in the audience, taking the broom on stage and other stupid things that get very tiring in the end. Especially in the wardrobe as if I counted right 11 out of 15 wore black. Clara stands out even more so as the real beauty of elegance this year sporting another stunning gown last night. Tonight the second Sanremo 2024 night takes place in Teatro Ariston. Next to Amadeus will be singer and Sanremo winner Giorgia who has the hard task of following Marco Mengoni who seems to have convinced everyone last night as a showman, comic and host besides singer. There's already a demand for his own show on Rai1 sometime i the future, or at least his presence every night this year in Sanremo. Poor Giorgia. The real reason for her presence is however to celebrate her Sanremo debut (7th among newcomers) with classic E poi... that turns 30 this year. She was back in Sanremo the year after and won. Then she came back as a reigning winner and placed 3rd. And then she returned again in 2001 and placed 2nd. She finally got back last year placing 6th. Ops, they did it again! Sanremo 2022 started with a bang: 54,7% share, an average of 10,9 million people watching, especially young folks (71% of 15-19 yrs old and still 65% of 15-34 yrs old) with peak of 16,5 million and the best start of these three Amadeus era Sanremos that have been highly successful in every sense. Last night's show even almost stayed in schedule and the flow was good, no dull moments but a steady flow of things happening and songs being performed. Well done! Amadeus co-hostess tonight is Lorena Cesarini, Fiorello might be there or then not.  The Eurovision song contest hosts in Turin might be announced or then not. The rumor is they are Laura Pausini, Alessandro Cattelan and MIKA. At least MIKA has been spotted in Sanremo already yesterday. But Arisa and Malika Ayane are there to launch the voting for the XXV Olympic Games anthem, and Laura Pausini anyways to present her new song Scatola .
