Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Belarus president Alexander Lukashenko hopes his country will win the next Eurovision song contest to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan in May 2012. He believes the Azerbaijan's success and next year's hosting will open the way to the first and long awaited win for Belarus. So he states in the congratulation message to the Azerbaijan president Ilham Aliyev.  Lukashenko has been in the lead of Belarus since 1994. Under Lukashenko's rule, Belarus has emerged to be viewed as a state whose conduct is out of line with international laws and whose regime is considered to grossly violate human rights.Condoleezza Rice described Belarus as “the last true remaining dictatorship in the heart of Europe”. Belarus has been participating in Eurovision since 2004 with rather variable results. Belarus looks on stage like they were hosting a quiz sgow with their huge microphone stands. I won't comment the song or Anastasya's vocal capacities for obvious reasons. No final.With a different singer and lyrics this could be rather nice though. After three poor entries (for me) finally something I like, Latvia . The guys of Musiqq are also in their casual wear today and the performance is a solid good one. They start sitting on stools their backs to the audience and turn around when the chorus kicks in. The rapper guy gets up when it's time to rap a bit and the singer guy has a great voice if a little raspy today after last night's party?. It's groovy, poppy and catchy. I want to believe this qualifies, even if no one else seems to think so... Time will tell. I like it! After Latvia another popular dislike of mine, Denmark . I love Belarus, get a dick inside ? Whaat? Do I need to comment a song that is poorly sung with horrible accent and the most disgusting lyrics maybe ever in Eurovision? Croatia - Daria Kinzer - Celebrate **** This one went from Lahor by Jacques Houdek to Daria to Break a leg and finally Celebrate . I think I liked a bit more the original softer Lahor/Break a leg version. I didn't go crazy for this one at first but it has grown to be one of my favourites, a good mood old fashioned Eurovision entry. But as I have said before it's will battle it out with Hungary and may lose. Qualifier: With a lot of luck. Albania - Aurela Gaçe - Feel the passion ** Albania often reworks its songs so much you hardly recognise them anymore after the work out but this time Feel the passion and Kenga ime sound pretty much the same only underlining the fact the English version has lost the feeling of the song. To me it sounds pretty boring now and the stars went down. Aurela though will propably give all on stage and judging the preview video will look stunning. Will it be enough to bring it to the final?
