Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

ORF and EBU have finally released the rehearsal schedule for the Eurovision song contest 2026 in Vienna according several sites yet I haven't seen an official release when writing this. Finland's first 30 minutes rehearsal is scheduled on May 2 at 15.40-16.10. The second one, 25 minutes instead of the usual 20 btw it seems, is scheduled for May 6 at 15.00-15.25. Oddly the Big4 + Austria have  25 + 25 minutes rehearsals on May 7 and 9, which  But what happens in these first and second rehearsals and what are they for?  If things haven't changed much since I was there the first 30 minutes rehearsals is mostly technical. The acts get to the stage for the very first time after the stand in rehearsals have practiced the lighting and camera angles, props and all that . Usually they get to go through the song three times, four if you are lucky and happy how things progress and changes can be made after each run through as the delegation watches on screens how it all looks like. ...

The Eurovision song contest 2023 rehearsals start in Liverpool next Sunday. As usual there's a 30 minutes first rehearsal for each country followed by 20 minutes second rehearsal. Then come three dress rehearsals for each show for everyone involved. Finland will have its rehearsals on Monday May 1st at 15.10-15.40 and Wednesday May 3 at 18.20-18.40 , while the other big favorite Sweden on Sunday April 30 at 18.30-19.00 and Wednesday May 3 at 16.40-17.00. In short on Sunday April 30 we have countries from Norway to Sweden (11.30-19.00. On Monday May 1 we continue  from Israel to Cyprus (11.30-19.00) Tuesday May 2 from Estonia to Australia (11.30-19.40) Wednesday May 3 from Norway to Finland (11.30-18.40) Thursday May 4 from Denmark to Belgium (11.30-13.30) and the Big5 + Ukraine have their first rehearsal as well (14.40-18.30) Friday May 5 from Cyprus to Australia (11.30-18.30) Saturday May 6 The Big5 + Ukraine have their 2nd rehearsals (11.30-13.55) Sunday May 7 Opening part...

The stage is building, the artists are promoing all over Europe and now the things are getting more concrete as we have the official rehearsal schedule in Kyiv. And yes, it does include Russia, let's see how that ends up filled..... As always there's a lot going on behind the closed doors before and after the actual rehearsal on stage. The rehearsal schedule has been finally published and yes, they have managed to squeeze it all into seven days. The first technical rehearsals (40 minutes each country behind closed doors) and each country's second rehearsal (25 minutes open rehearsals) that is. The days from Monday to Thursday are quite bearable lasting just pretty much like a normal working day. On Friday things change; Friday and Saturday are long like those days in Helsinki 2007..... Each rehearsal is followed by a press conference of the country in question. There are some new things, like host nation Sweden rehearsaing alsready on Tuesday for the first time. The rehearsal schedule has been published for the 2015 Eurovision song contest in Vienna. It is good to know there's so much more than just the rehearsal on stage than most fans and press see in the monitors or in the arena if it's an open rehearsal. This year again the first rehearsals are with closed doors to let the artists and their team to work in peace and quiet, and not have the media attacking every thing they do as often in this phase various options are still being tried out for the camera shots, lights and even the staging in general before they decided how to proceed.

Here it is finally. The long awaited schedule that the fans and the delegations alike have been waiting for eagerly. Like last year the first technical rehearsals are behind closed doors to give the delegations some peace and quiet to get their act together on stage. They can be watched on screen in Press center though. Press and fans get to see the First dress rehearsal, while the Second is the so called Jury rehearsal and they vote across Europe based on that. The Third one is for the Families who can't stay up late and watch the real thing..... The fun starts on Monday April 28 when the first ten countries rehearse (Armenia, Latvia, Estonia, Sweden, Iceland, Albania, Russia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Belgium) starting from 10.00 until 17.50. The Press conferences follow each country, starting at 12.20 for Armenia and finishing 20.00 for Belgium. But for participating countries that 30 minutes on stage isn't all there is. The delegations must arrive almost two hours before...

The delegations are meeting in Malmö and news are coming little by little so I will add them here. First of all the previsional dates for the next contest, Eurovision 2014, wherever that will take place ware May 13, 15 and 17 so it's the same week as now. Rehearsal schedule has been published and indeed it does look very different from previous years.  From Monday May 6 until Thursday May 9 all the semifinalists will rehearse behind closed doors so to speak, between 10am and 5pm. From Friday 10 the open dress rehearsals start. First on friday the whole first semifinal between midday and 10.30pm. On Saturday it's time for the second semifinalist from midday to 11pm. On Saturday between 10am and 5pm the BIG5+1 rehearses. On Monday and Tuesday it's all about the first semifinalist in late afternoon/evening.
