Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

As there isn't much to blog when rehearsals are done with closed doors (and yes, I'm all for it!)  I will just do a feature with a couple of  photos from the rehearsals as published by Ebu.  Today a couple of things caught my eye: Luxemburg's totally wrong outfit, Finland's and Slovenia's "nudity" and Moldova's lack of those violin girls. Not so sure of Azeri outfits either. As for the rest pretty much the same and expected.  Today we had the first 30 minutes technical rehearsals by these countries: ICELAND SLOVENIA FINLAND MOLDOVA   AZERBAIJAN AUSTRALIA PORTUGAL LUXEMBURG

It's crazy, it's party! Mr Worldwide in his neon green bolero and cha cha cha dancers in pink are giving us an extended version of UMK2023 staging. The pallets are there, there's a wooden box, straps. This is a BIG FINNISH for the first semi-final and I can already assure you the viewing figures will hit the all time high come the final night. For us this is all so weird; we don't have to worry about qualifying as there's no chance in hell we won't, and the only thing we worry about is Loreen. So it is. So be it. Knowing the historic rivalry between Sweden and Finland, all friendly btw, wouldn't it be so sweet to beat her in the televotes and take the trophy!  because, let's admit it, we have come to a situation that anything but victory will do totally forgetting any place in Top-5 would be our second best placing ever.  And I want to thank already at this point Yle, UMK and most of all Käärijä for the best Eurovision journey ever, no matter how it end....

The rehearsals started on stage in Liverpool arena for the Eurovision song contest 2023 yesterday and today we continue with the rest of the first semi-final, including Finland, and some first acts from the second semi-final.. As Ebu once again is using TikTok for the short tiny rehearsal clips I'm not going to care much of them. But here is a collection of photos and impressions and observations by your truly of the closed doors happenings. Mind you, I'm all in favor for this closed door policy: the delegations must have a little bit privacy and peace and quiet to polish their acts before they are given to the sharks aka fandom eager to criticize every tiny detail. And also I kinda like the idea we are given as little as possible to watch before the shows so there will be surprises and wow effect - if you have seen it all beforehand where's the fun? Day 2 in Pala Olimpico and first 30 minute rehearsals from Portugal, Croatia, Denmark, Austria, Greece, Iceland, Norway and Armenia - that's a lot of female vocals and girly guitars! Today's gossip sees Albania's rehearsal photos being too provocative. Meanwhile the the stage and its rotating sun keeps being a matter of heated discussion. Now apparently it has been decided it won't be used by the delegations at all but only during the opening and interval acts etc. What's the big deal? The same thing happened in Helsinki 2007 for example when the catwalk was forbidden from delegations to use but was heavily used by other acts. Meanwhile I am once again quite disgusted by the fandom on social media, their bad behavior and arrogance. I'm so ready to leave twitter and this once this season is over.
