NETHERLANDS: OG3NE HIT THE RADIO TODAY

The Dutch trio was today doing some radio stuff.....    Coffee, anyone?

ESC 2017 KYIV - DAY 7: THE NETHERLANDS SECOND REHEARSAL

The Dutch sister trio plays the tribute to their mother, and indeed a woman figure is seen in lights and shadows in the backdrop along with some joining hands and lines from the lyrics and candles. And even a crucifix kind of image on the floor at one point. I find it a bit creepy really. It's all very blue and purple and blue are also their sparkling dresses. After rather static beginning they get some old school Eurovision choreography going for the last bit and they really move in unison. Vocals are perfect but I can't help but fiinding this song a bit dull.  And I have no idea how they will feature. They are supposed to make it, but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't after all.

ESC 2017 KYIV - DAY 3: THE NETHERLANDS FIRST REHEARSAL

The sisters are doing it for themselves. In unison. The choreography is perfectly timed, the harmonies, too. It's all classy in sparkling outfits, each to her own like The Supremes back in the days. Dark backdrop mostly and some words projected into it time to time. Maybe this will end up like Hold on, be strong for Norway 2008, a song that everyone was crazy about and it did so well but I just don't get it. I don't. There's nothing for me in this to get excited about. It awakes no emotion in me. I'd love to hate it but I can't, I'm just numb. Next....

ESC 2017 REVIEW - THE NETHERLANDS (39): OG3NE - LIGHTS AND SHADOWS

Pictured is the Netherlands national flower tulip OG3NE aka the sister trio Lisa, Amy & Shelley Vol (aged 21-22) were internally chosen to represent The Netherlands this year. The song Lights and shadows was announced later, it's written by Rick Vol (their father) and Rory De Kievit.  The trio is no stranger to Eurovision as they already did the Junior Eurovision ten years ago. Later they made themselves known in The Voice of Holland that they won. They have released three albums, the latest released in fall 2016 hitting #1 in the Dutch charts.  The song is based on various harmonies with their voices and the girls sure can sing well together and have pretty voices. But the song is so 80's American nonsense, they could have done so much better I suppose. I'm bored already after the first chorus and it doesn't get any better and for me it's a very long three minutes. Uninteresting, boring, unoriginal and highly forgettable. With a good staging thi...
