ESC 2016: NINA KRALJIC WINS BARBARA DEX AWARD

Over 10.000 voters this year and not surprisingly Croatia's Nina Kraljic won the title with 16,16% of the votes, almost the double than runner up Germany's Jamie-Lee.  But then, Nina did have two dresses worth the title!  I don't personally share this Jamie-Lee's second place as it only proves she wasn't understood, or rather her cosplay practise. Here in Finland it's not uncommon to see cosplay people so for us it's just a way to dress, just like dressing like a heavy rocker, or a hipster. Big deal.  And Rykka from Switzerland came close third. Propably helped by her hair.

ESC 2016 SWITZERLAND: THE SECOND REHEARSAL

The major change is Rykka's hair that is still blue but is now straight (Sanni anyone?) The burning question is if she will have curls or straight hair later on. I don't think either makes the song any better really.... And I don't think we will see her in the final no matter what hairstyle she has..... Talking about crusl I think  Krøller eller ej was a better song :-)

ESC 2016 SWITZERLAND: THE FIRST REHEARSAL

Enter Rykka whose hair has turned grey/blue for the occasion. Still those granny curls though. She's again performing barefoot, long black but trasparent dress on a blue lit stage with waterfall pyros with other pyros and smoke effect in the beginning of the song right behind her as well. Her backing singers are hidden away. Her hairdo and that dress and the smoke effect certainly take your ears off the song, that is hevily supported by backing vocalists. She surely seems ready for the aliens to come and pick her up asif she's last of our kind..... but before please let her go and pee as she seems to be in desperate need of that! In the Meet & Greet she feels good, relaxed. The rest of the meeting was maybe the most akward so far; the flow was really low and she wasn't that talkative, was she? And no one seemed to really have questions for her.... Oh well. Check it out at the bottom of this post.  In the video Israel's Hovi Star welcomes Rykka with open a...

ESC 2016: SPAIN, GERMANY, SWITZERLAND AND UKRAINE REVIEWS

Another foursome of female voices. SPAIN - BAREI - SAY YAY! (Barei, Ruben Villanueva & Victor Pua) Barei won the Spanish national final, and caused a major local storm as her song has no words in Spanish. Blogilkar: I like this. I would have preferred a song in Spanish with a Spanish feeling to it, but Barei is very captivating and I even like her silly dance moves. Irresistible in a way. I don't think this song will be remembered in 10 years time but it's a good addition to the line up. 9 Jack:  Spain is singing in English for the first time ever - and even though it caused some drama - I think Barei is set to give Spain their best result for years. Say Yay is incredibly catchy and she's also good live. I wanna go to Spain in 2017!! Hurray! 10 Peter: Great entrance, and very catchy number - wow - what a great time we would have at Eurovision in 2017 if it was in Spain !! For me I would love to see Spain with, but not sure it will happen. It's the on...

ESC 2016 SWITZERLAND: RYKKA WINS WITH THE LAST OF OUR KIND

Fan favorite Rykka wins the Swiss national selection with The last of our kind. Vincent Gross would have been a good choice, too Vincent Gross – Half A Smile Bella C – Another World Kaceo – Disque d’or Theo – Because Of You Rykka – The Last Of Our Kind Stanley Miller – Feel The Love

ESC 2016 SWITZERLAND: THE FINAL TONIGHT

Remember Switzerland who chose it's six finalists in various selections already ages ago? Well, it feels like ages ago but the final's going to be tonight. Six artists and songs are left and all six are going to perform also another song, a cover. What's the purpose of that at this stage if not only to fill in some spare time? I don't know but maybe Swiss television thinks it's a good idea....  Anyways, below are the artists with their songs (and their covers). Oh, and Kaceo present a cleaned up version of their entry without various chiens, putans, culs, nichons, pipes and fucks just to mention a few... But my vote goes to Vincent. Stanley. Rykka. In that order.  Vincent Gross - Half a smile ( Astronaut - Sido feat. Andreas Bourani) Bella C - Another world ( Empire state of mind (Part II) - Alicia Keys) Kaceo - Disque d'or ( Video killed the radiostar - The Buggles) Theo - Because of you ( Photograph - Ed Sheeran) Rykka - ...

ESC 2016 SWITZERLAND: HERE ARE THE FINALISTS

The Swiss Expertencheck took hours and hours and hours ..... and finally we have the six who made the cut. My favourites Vincent and Stanley made it, as did Rykka so I can't complain. Bella C  Another world Rykka - The last of our kind Stanley Miller - Feel the love Stephanie Palazzo - Perche mi guardi cosi Theo - Because of you Vincent Gross - Half a smile
