Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

In less than five days we will finally know who are the 22 (yes, 22. Carlo Conti announced a few days ago there will be 22 Big instead of 20 this year "as the bids were so good it was hard to choose") Big ones are.  On top of the names speculated and rumored before (read all about them in the post by clicking Sanremo banner on top of this page) new ones in the last minute include Amara, Loredana Bertè, Samuel Romano (ex-Subsonica now solo), Riccardo Sinigallia and Paola Iezzi (ex Paola & Chiara). Even Toto Cutugno is mentioned all of sudden.... Some interesting names rumored as songwriters as well. Amara (for Fiorella Mannoia), Giorgia (for Sergio Sylvestre), Raige (for Marco Carta), Zibba (for Marco Masini), Jovanotti (for Samuel Romano), Giuseppe Anastasi (Ron), Sergio Endrigo (for Riccardo Sinigallia) ... And how many rappers tere will be this time? Baby K ? Briga ? Raige ?  Grido ? Moreno ? Clementino ? On the other hand it had been confirme...

Catholic world is celebrating an extra Giubileo declared by the Pope Francis and today it's the special event for the Youth. Olympic stadium in Rome is the venue and the climax of the day and evening is a megaconcert with top names like Francesca Michielin, Arisa, Rocco Hunt, Lorenzo Fragola, Giovanni Caccamo, Deborah Iurato, Moreno and Dear Jack, a real Sanremo reunion indeed! As you can see from the photo Francy & Francis have already spent some time together....

Sanremo might or might not be the selection method for the Eurovision 2015 for Italy. In the past days RAI has confirmed its presence in Vienna to a huge relief of those Italian (and not only) fans who were in doubt and still can't believe Italy is back in game for real. Among the fans the speculation and opinions run wild if Sanremo will be linked with Eurovision, and also should it be at all? One possibility is that the artist will be selected internally beforehand and will still take part in Sanremo, and whatever the result, will go to Vienna anyways. Or then it simply has nothing to do with Sanremo 2015. This blogger would love to see Arisa , this year's winner to have her chance now as she seemed more than eager to do Eurovision this year and seems to be well aware of what it is all about. Marco Mengoni takes another crown before this incredible 2013 is over for him: his concert from Rimini on New Year's eve will be broadcasted live on Canale 5. The big New Year's eve variety shows have been a battle by RaiUno and Canale 5 for years and usually Canale 5 has lost it. I suspect they won't this year! The concert starts at 10pm in Rimini's Piazza Fellini and will lead Italians to 2014. As a warm up his concert #prontoacorrerelive from Taormina, Sicily this summer will be broadcasted on Italia1 on December 20, 2013. After New Year's he will retire from the spotlight to work in his next album. RaiUno is having a Carlo Conti conducted show live from Courmayeur with guests, including musical acts Moreno, Gigi D'Alessio, Anna Tatangelo, Karima, the Voice winner Elhaida Dani and Paola Iezzi (of Paola & Chiara). It seems like a battle lost.... :-)
