Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Another video greeting straight from Kyiv for you!

After Iceland and Czech Republic Cyprus stands out. Hovig has finally mastered the complicated choreography it seems and even if there are similarities to Loic Nottet's success two years ago it's not too eviden anymore. All that is happening is distracting from the song but also supporting it. His vocals are ok and this is kinda entertaining three minutes. I was ready to write Cyprus off but now I don't know. It just might sneak into the final after all but I doubt it will feature so well there.

Gravity. It seems Hovig is still having some gravity problems with the rather complicated choreography he is engaged with his two dancing boys. With the white'n black backdrop and the said choreography he has been instanty compared to Loic Nottet, and apparently losing the game in all fronts. They still have to work a lot on it but unlike Iceland they might be onto something good once its perfected. And yes, Hovig is another no socks fashion victim.... For me this is a borderline qualifier, and in this strong semifinal it's not making it. But then, who knows?

Pictured is the national flower of Cyprus, cyclamen Cypriot TV skipped the national finals and picked up Hovig internally as their entrant, and ordered the song from Swedish Thomas G:son, just like last year. Hovig was the very first artists known for this season, announced already in October 2016 but we had to wait for the song, Gravity ,  until March 1, 2017. Now both 2016 and 2017 entrants are from their latest national final in 2015 where over 50 artists took part, so we have material for years to come still....  Hovig Demirjian (28), is of Armenian origin as you can easily guess from his name. He was aiming for career in marketing and business but music took over and he switched to jazz and vocal studies, after learning to play guitar and piano by himself.  In 2009 he was off to Greece and X Factor where he placed in the end 7th. He returned to Cyprus and released a string of singles and toured also Greece, middle east and Russia of all places. He has tried...

Tim Schou has a pretty good solo career going since he left his friends in London. He's travelling the world and relesing songs and videos. The latest one is a great track and comes with a steamy video that kinda takes away from the song really. But who's complaining. If you got it, flaunt it. Enjoy the video below. This post coming after the other Dane, Rasmus Seebach as wishlist for Eurovision. To think about it, Tim would do nicely, too. Maybe he should give it another go?
