Keep it in family. This week have brothers Frans and Mikko Harju with their respective latest offerings paired with two female bangers by Jannika B and Neea River. Thinking of it this foursome should all apply for UMK2025 in my opinion.   Another month but #Finpop keeps delivering. The UMK 2015 runner up Satin Circus may no longer exist but two of its members are enjoying solo success: Olli Halonen and Paul Elias. A total of 14 songs topped the official Finnish singles chart in the 2020 for anything between one week to an incredible 20 weeks. Nine of them were Finnish and the foreign one with the most weeks has a video directed by a Finn, namely Blinding lights . The queen of 2020 is BEHM who's Hei rakas  continued being number one also in 2020 after six weeks in the end of 2019 (and 12 in total in top-20 in 2019 and where it still stays in  week 53/20!). Her Frida has spent in the charts already 25 weeks in top-7 and spent 3 separate weeks at #1 and 15 weeks at #2! Tivolit spent 22 weeks in the top-20, three of them at #2. Her other seven album songs made the charts for a total of 34 weeks thanks to streaming.  If BEHM was the Queen then William was the King with 20 weeks on top with Penelope . The Weeknd was the real foreign contender and by the end of the year Vain elämää reality provided two #1 hits this season: Stig covering Arja Koriseva 's cover of Annikki Tähti 's cover ...

Vain elämää is a hugely popular semi reality music program where top artists get together for a week and each day is dedicated to one of them. The day's artist sits through lunch and dinner telling about own life and career while the others each perform a cover song of this artist's repertoire. At the moment the season 11 is airing. The season always gives birth to countless streaming hits, restarts careers, cements the up and coming ones and sells out Hartwall Arena for a concert later in the year.  The artists are so already so many, and fit also the other given #umk2021 categories like past Eurovision stars and Emma award winners. Biggest radio hit in 2019 so far.... and ever! Topping the chart for 14 weeks he replaced Jenni Vartiainen's Missä muruseni on (#1 for 13 weeks in 2010) as the song with most weeks at #1.  Benjamin's video was filmed in one shot and released late last year, but it's playing on radio only now.....

The juries have been made public. Still blogger still fails a bit to understand what's the point making them known this early, as I think it will be easier to maybe reach out to them and influence their vote when they are all out and known. But then what do I know? Only that if, say Jannika was a friend of mine, I would brainwash her to vote who I want to, lol. If I didn't know she's in the jury and she didn't tell me I wouldn't.... The silence around UMK 2015 is thicker than the November darkness in Finland. The rumors and number of those declaring their participation or not being selected are very few, almost non existing. YLE will announce the 12 chosen ones only in January while even the final date hasn't been yet confirmed, not where the final will take place.  The fans are hoping for Jannika B 's participation, based simply on the fact she announced she won't be doing any gigs from March 2015 for some time.... Wishtful thinking only? Time will tell....As all the other names mentioned below are totally unknown to common public she'd be the famous one here with some success and minor hits like Onnenpäivä , Hulluksi onnesta and Seuraavaan elämään .  Satu Kostiainen & The Travellers told the local media in September  they have sent a countryrock & blues song to the contest. While the winner Softengine is still working on their debut album and is about to release their new single Yellow house shortly, the girls of MIAU have come out with their debut album Trinity . Ten songs including of course their 3rd placed God/Drug .  Jasmin Michaela 's new single is called Irtokarkkeja following Kertakäyttösydän . Clarissa is out with Lies , following her duet with Josh Standing in Top of the world . Oh, and Madcraft is out with Never had the guts , too. Let's not forget Mikko Pohjola being featured in Jannika B's Sateen rummut while waiting for his new album including of course Sängyn reunalla .  Hukka ja Mama are also working on their debut album with Selja . Crazy for happiness. That's what she is, Jannika B. She's just secured a recording deal and has just released this pulsating pop track Hulluksi onnesta . A great follow up to Onnenpäivä , her debut single. Let's see how her career will develop, her first try in Idols 2007 didn't take her that far, maybe it's her time now?
