Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

  The 70th Sanremo festival with the victory of Diodato and his Fai rumore in the early morning hours last night. He left behind runner up and Eurovision veteran Francesco Gabbani and collected a few other awards besides the Golden Lion and Palmtree: Premio della Critica Mia Martini. Premio Sala Stampa Lucio Dalla and Premio Lunezia. The other awards went to Francesco Gabbani (Premio TimMusic), Rancore (Premio Sergio Bardotti for the best lyrics), Tosca (Premio Giancarlo Bigazzi for the best music and Premio Nilla Pizzi for the best song and performance) This festival has been an incredible success in every front: The record breaking viewing figures continued the last night with an average share 60,6% (highest since 1999) and a peak of 76,8%, or 11,4 million viewers. The Instagram stories registered over 23,3 million views, online service RaiPlay and Youtube channel got over 82,56 million views, Melodifestivalen who? And the total lenght of the five nights was almos...

Here we are finally: the fifth and last night of the 70th Sanremo festival that has been a huge success with viewing figures and ratings all week making best results in 20 years or more, despite everyone lamenting how long the nights are and how many guests there have been and how the songs have been a bit shadowed by all the rest. And I agree, the nights have been long and sometimes I have lost patience for yet another guest instead of hearing the competing songs but I must say it has been still very enjoyable and entertaining. Amadeus and Fiorello have worked well, Tiziano Ferro has been around, we've had some old glories like Ricchi e Poveri reuniting for the first time since 1981, we've had Albano e Romina Power... and the songs in competition are all good. I must confess I don't have one or more that I would really really love and hope for a win but many, most actually. So it will be very curious to see how this ends and if the winner will indeed go to Eurovision....

Another rating success for Sanremo 2020. The fourth night scored a share of 53,3%, the highest since 1999 with over 9,5 million Italians glued to their tv- screens.  Fiorello and Tiziano Ferro had a minor fight the night before for the lenght of Fiore's gags and the fact Tiz had to sing sometime at morning light (apparently) but last night they kissed and made up (apparently). Fiorello was accusing Ferro launching a hate campaign against him in socail medias and threatened to walk away.... maybe.  This said Ferro acted like an idiot after the kiss that was ment to be "almost there" but Fiorello did it for real. Ferro's esaggerated reaction as a gay man was rather enbarassing to watch.  Like if his husband will get angry for that for real. If he does maybe it's time to really divorce. Later in the evening there was a kiss between Fiorello (masked as Ghali) and Ghali, following that fake one between Elettra Lamborghini and Myss Keta the night before. ...
