GOODBYE, FAREWELL...

The time has come. After all these years, 5,7 million visits, 12.000 articles I guess the time has come. As much as I love and care for Eurovision it just doesn't feel the same. The Corona years took their toll and the past two years and certain decisions have helped me to mature the idea that next year I will hear the songs for the first time in semi-final just like any so called local.  The bubble has burst. Add the toxicity in social medias and fandom. The arrogant teenagers who saw their first contest somewhere 2017 or even 2021 who think they know it all and only their opinion matters. Did I mention the toxic atmosphere on social medias? I'm too old for that sh*t. It's been a long ride that took me to various Eurovision on spot as a fan and tourist,  as a journalist, as a delegation member. I met some great people, made memories of lifetime. In stressful, sad periods of my life this blog has been my safe place, a place to escape and forget everything else for an hour o...

EUROVISION 2018 DAY 3: FIRST REHEARSAL FOR NORWAY, ROMANIA, SERBIA

Here we go again. Day 3 and we get to see the first half of the second semi-final act display their cards aka staging. Among them Eurovision 2009 winner Alexander Rybak who has rocketed up in the betting odds the past 24 hrs or so but also underdogs San Marino, questionable Russia and favorite Australia. Norway - Alexander Rybak - That's how you write a song When something is good and works, why change it? Rybak brings the same MGP performance here with on-screen graphics with air instruments, four dancers and a lot of energy and humour. The backing group has apparently changed though, the rest remains. He oozes charisma (if you like him) and is the plain old (if you don't) but for certain this is a solid, well choreographed fun performance and will go very far, no matter what the euroboys in the bubble say. A lot better than I wanna that won with a fun and energetic performance and not much of a song.... "Playful", "Cheerful", "Energe...

ESC 2016 SERBIA: SANJA'S VIDEO MESSAGE

It's not a goodbye! Listen to music, have a good time and vote!

ESC 2016 SERBIA: THE FIRST REHEARSAL

All about domestic violance in Serbia's staging, as the song suggests. Despite the heavy topic the song'sgreat and the performance fitting without being too underlining. The four female backing singers cover their eyes and mouths, a male dancer comes in later and and lifts one of the females who tries to get away. Powerful. As are Sanja's vocals, and the song. Silver and red in the backdrop but Sanja's dress is still a mystery. It seems only positive comments all over the media and as being one who loved the song to start with this is all kinds of wonderful. Straight to the final and hopefully very high on the scoreboard in there. In the choreography there's a hint of Serbia's winning performance in Helsinki 2007. Both red color and the choreography in the end. In the Meet & Greet Sanja shines, too, edgng stand up show at parts. . She says it was a wonderful experience to be on that stage, the biggest she's ever been to so far. She's born to do ...

ESC 2016 SERBIA: ZAA PRESENTS GOODBYE

Tonight also Serbia and ZAA aka Sanja Vučić released their song and it's a classy ballad titled Goodbye. Makes me think of Nina Zilli and Sanremo for some reason..... Very nice. Shame it's not in Serbian though as then it would be awesome.
