ESC 2016 HUNGARY: A DAL SEMIFINAL TWO TONIGHT

The second and last A Dal semifinal takes place tonight. Again nine songs that qualified in the three heats, and now three will be qulifying thanks to the jury, and televoters will add the fourth one. This one includes all three songs saved by televote, semifinal one winner and semifinal two runner up. It doesn't look like a very even mix compared to semifinal one but then Freddie is in league of his own here. The only other one I really want in the final is Olivér & Andi. Passed is fine but the fourth one? Don't know really.....  André Vásáry – Why (2nd SF2) 42 ByTheWay – Free To Fly (televote SF1) 31 Egy Másik Zenekar – Kéne közös kép (3rd SF1) 33 Freddie – Pioneer (winner SF1) 47 Laci Gáspár – Love And Bass (4th SF2) 35 Mónika Veres Nika – Emlékkép (5th SF3) 39 Olivér Berkes & Andi Tóth – Seven Seas (televote SF3) 34 (televoting) Parno Graszt – Már nem szédülök (3rd SF3) 42 Passed – Driftin’ (televote SF2) 33

ESC 2016 HUNGARY: HEAT TWO TONIGHT

Hungary's A dal continues tonight with the second heat. Once again the judges + App send five acts straight to the next stage, and from the losers televoters will save another one. Previous winner András Kállay Saunders is back with his band, as are familiar names from previous selections from Karmapolis to Gergö and fan favorite Passed. A bit bland semi this one. Gergö brings some nice ethnic vibe to it, Group'n'Swing come useless cabaret, Karmapolis is good with its atmospheric entry that makes me think of Police and Sting for some reason, and Passed is again enjoyable. But Kállay Saunders rules.  Passed –  Driftin’   34 (televote) Gergő Oláh –  Győz a jó   39 Laci Gáspár –  Love and bass   37 André Vásáry – Why   39 Karmapolis & Böbe Szécsi – Hold on to   36 Kállay Saunders Band –  Who we are   41 Group’n’Swing –  Szeretni fáj    31 Anna Patai –  Colors    32 Maszkura és a ...

ESC 2016 HUNGARY: GERGÖ RÁCZ AND OTHERS HAVE SUBMITTED SONGS

The submission period for one of the Europe's best national selections, Hungary's A Dal has ended. Many names have admitted or leaked information that they are running at it again or for the first time.  Among them we have Gergö Rácz who has already graced the Eurovision stage a s a member of V.I.P . in 1997 and has co-written fan favorite What about my dreams in 2011. This is his fourth year in a row in A Dal as a solo or member of Fool Moon. Last year's fan favorite Passed is back, too, and then we have names like Timi Antal, Kozmix, Laura Cserpes, Guyla Elias Jr, Gájer Bálint, Mujahid Zoltán and MDC again. This year's jury favorite and this bloggers favorite Ádám Szabó with Give me your love has now formed a boyband YesYes and has submitted a song with them.  American born Abbe Lewis, André Vásáry, Oliver Berkes & Lili Peterffy, Mrs Colombo, Izsák Palmer are among the names whose participation is known by various sources. The selected song and m...

ESC 2015 HUNGARY: FINAL LINE UP AND MY LITTLE REVIEW

Hungary's A Dal has been through three heats and two semifinals and we finally have the final and by the end of it the Hungarian Eurovision 2015 entry for neighbouring Vienna. Simple? As usual, I know I repeat myself, the line up is very good. For me A Dal has been for years now one of the strongest national finals around and this year is no exception. Below the acts and their points in the semifinals. Six qualified thanks to jury while Spoon and Bálint qualified thanks to the televoters. Boggie and Adam start from the pole position. I'm not sure about Boggie 's live performances even if the song is sweet and important. she has also always qualified thanks to jurors so will televoters like her, too? I like Ádám 's song and his intense performance. Kati hasn't completely convinced me yet but it's good and will be easier to master when in English . Yet I don't think she would better her placement in Vienna from the last time so she should stay home this t...

ESC 2015 HUNGARY: SEMIFINAL TWO TOMORROW

Hungary will have it's second and last semifinal before the grand final tomorrow night. Once again four songs wil qualify for the final. First three by jury/televote and then televoters can save one more among the non-qualifiers. Nelow the entries and the scores they got in the previous qualification heats. These nine all made it thanks to jury votes and no televoters wildcard are in. Eurovision veteran kati Wolf is in the leading position. My favorites are Kati - with her air conditioned and lighten up dress, they always invent something new!, Ív, Bogi, Passed and as a wildcard Other Planet.  Kati Wolf – Ne engedj el  45 Passed – Mesmerize  43 Other Planet – Untold Story  42 Gergő Oláh – A tükör előtt  41 Bálint Gájer – That’s How It Goes  40 Ív – Fire  38 Bogi Dallos – World of Violence  38 Éliás Gyula Jr. ft. Fourtissimo – Run to You  36 Gabi Szűcs – Úgysem felejtesz el  37 UPDATE: Kati Wolf won the second...

ESC 2015 HUNGARY: WE HAVE THE FIRST A DAL QUALIFIERS

The first Hungarian heat was presented tonight and once again the level of the songs is very high. Hungary is so going to win Eurovision very time soon. Tonight the jury and voters had hard time to pick up the qualifiers and as you can see in the points it was very even. The jury had to pick up two of the three songs with 37 points for the next step and unfortunately Balazs Farkas Jenser was left out and didn't survive the televote for the remaining act as Timi Antak emerged as viewers' favorite from there. This blogger doesn't entirely agree with the result but then there were just too many god ones! Passed - Mesmerize   43 Vera Toth - Gyemant   39 Bogi - World Of Violence   38 Balazs Farkas Jenser - Liar   37 Gabi Szucs - Ugysem felejtesz el   37 Karmapolis - The Time Is Now   37 Gergo Szakacs – Ösz utca   33 Timi Antak - Woke Up This Way   33 MDC - Maniac   31 Bori Magyar - Lead Me To Heaven   29 *qual...
