EUROVISION 2025: BLOGILKAR'S HOME JURY RANKING, VOL.13 - NUMBER ONE

It's the time again: Blogilkar's home jury of Eurovision fans, non-fans and common viewers from teenagers to nearly 60 years old have watched and listened giving points from 1 to 10 plus a special 12 points to be awarded to the one favorite. In case of a tie the ranking was done by highest points received by any juror(s). And yes, the result is somewhat surprising here and there. Last year our winner was NQ Czechia but the winner Switzerland was 2nd and runner up Croatia 3rd.  With the help of four 10s turned into 12s Finland's Erika Vikman came and won with ICH KOMME scoring 92 points from our home jury. That's a nice consolation to Erika who has been pretty much forgotten and ignored at home front after KAJ's win in Sweden, more about that in another post to come, stay tuned! She scored from us a seven and all the rest above.

EUROVISION 2025: BLOGILKAR'S HOME JURY RANKING, VOL. 12 - PLACE 2

Estonia's Tommy Cash with Espresso macchiato is our runner up with 83 points gathered with three times 10 theat turned into 12s and the lowest points awarded one time 6. The song is already a phenomenon in my friend bubble and the other jurors were all aware of this song beforehand even if not maybe following Eurovision at all outside the live shows (and me forcing them now to rank the songs, that is). And yes the song is co-written and produced in Finland!

EUROVISION 2025: BLOGILKAR'S HOME JURY RANKING, VOL.11 - PLACE 3

It's the time again: Blogilkar's home jury of Eurovision fans, non-fans and common viewers from teenagers to nearly 60 years old have watched and listened giving points from 1 to 10 plus a special 12 points to be awarded to the one favorite. In case of a tie the ranking was done by highest points received by any juror(s). And yes, the result is somewhat surprising here and there. Last year our winner was NQ Czechia but the winner Switzerland was 2nd and runner up Croatia 3rd.  Sweden's Finnish sauna brothers have to settle with the third place with 80 points. A solid ring of 10s but yet none of them turned into 12 keeping it away from the top-2, and with the rest from 7 to 9 it was a solid performance. The KAJmania is all around us and we aren't immune to it. Or the president of Finland who declared he supports them, only having to apologize Erika privately and come out with the statement he supports both of them and hopes for a Finnish Top-2 in Basel. Fair enough...

EUROVISION 2025: BLOGILKAR'S HOME JURY RANKING, VOL. 10 - PLACE 4

Our surprise number 4 is Portugal with 74 points gathered with one 12 pointer given by our alternative 30something, a 10 and the rest is solid 7s and 8s with one 1 . yes, from the angsty teenager.

EUROVISION 2025: BLOGILKA'RS HOME JURY RESULTS, VOL. 9 - PLACE 5

Italy is our number five with 64 points gathered with one 10, a string of 8s and 9s but the angsty teenager hits again with a 1 with a couple of 5s. Most saw the authenticity of the artist and a good solid song that may be a bit unfashionable and old fashioned but then again it sounds already like an evergreen classic. His look and fashion sense was lost with the teenagers while the older ones got the hint. Check out places 6. - 9. here

EUROVISION 2025: BLOGILKAR'S HOME JURY RESULTS, VOL.7 - PLACES 10. - 13.

Very solid foursome next with almost identical votes in every way. 10. MALTA  60 Malta scored solidly between 6 and 9 with a couple of 4s in the mix 11. ISRAEL  60 Same set for Israel between 7 and 9, with a couple of 4s 12. NORWAY  60 Solid voted between 5 and 8 13. SAN MARINO  58 One 10, one 9 and a lot of 5s and 6s Check out places 14. - 17. here

EUROVISION 2025: BLOGILKAR'S HOME JURY RESULTS, VOL.6 - PLACES 14. - 17.

Slovenia might be a surprise here for fandom but mostly it was well liked among us - except the angsty teenagers. Czechia somewhat underperformed in points vs. comments. 14. SLOVENIA  58 Slovenia scored one 2 and one 3 but the rest was between 6 and 9 15. CZECHIA  58 Czechia scored a solid string from 5 to 9 with one odd 3 16. GREECE  57 Greece got a couple of 9s and the rest between 5 and 8 with one off 2. 17. AZERBAIJAN  56 Very variable between 3 and 9 Check out places 18. to 21. here

EUROVISION 2025: BLOGILKAR'S HOME JURY RESULTS, VOL.5 - PLACES 18. - 21.

This foursome sees the first "12 points" given or one juror's favorite of them all and it is Serbia. Fan and oss favorite to win it all Austria didn't manage better than 21.... 18. AUSTRALIA  55 Auatralia scored a nice solid 6s and 8s but one 2 dropped it a bit 19. SERBIA  53 Serbia scored everything between 1 and 12! 20. LUXEMBURG  53 Luxemburg also scored everything between 2 and 10 21. AUSTRIA  53 Austria scored a solid string between 5 and 8. In short no one liked too much nor dislik...

In case of a tie the ranking was done by highest points received by any juror(s). And yes, the result is somewhat surprising here and there. Last year our winner was NQ Czechia but the winner Switzerland was 2nd and runner up Croatia 3rd.  Biggest surprise in this block is Albania I guess considering the fan hype and odds. It was very divisive one, either you like it quite a lot of just don't get it at all... 22. IRELAND  52 Ireland scored one 10 and one 9 but the rest was less enthuastic 23. UKRAINE  52 Ukraine got one 9 and one 8 and a lot of 4s 24. ICELAND  51 Iceland scored nice medium set from 4s to 8s 25. ALBANIA  50 Very divisive; several 8s and several 1s-2s! In case of a tie the ranking was done by highest points received by any juror(s). And yes, the result is somewhat surprising here and there. Last year our winner was NQ Czechia but the winner Switzerland was 2nd and runner up Croatia 3rd.  The uptempo fan favorites didn't quite impress us.... 30. CYPRUS  43 Cyprus scored a solid string of 4s and 5s with one odd 8 in the mix 31. DENMARK 42 Same goes for Denmark. A lot of 4s and one odd 8 in the mix 32. BELGIUM 41 Belgium got one 7 and the rest is mix from 3 to 6 33. UNITED KINGDOM 38 A mix of votes from 1 to 7 Check out places 34. - 37. here

EUROVISION 2025: BLOGILKAR'S HOME JURY RESULTS , VOL.1- PLACES 34. - 37.

Let's start with the bottom-4. Common to these four was no one really liked them that much for various reason be it monotony, poor vocals, annoying sound and lyrics or simply not feeling that resulted with many very low votes that left them in the bottom of the list this year.  34. CROATIA 36 Croatia's votes went from 1 to 7 with several 2s and 3s as well.  35. GEORGIA 35 Georgia scored between several 2s and one odd 7 as max. 36. LATVIA 35 Latvia scored between 2 and 6 with quite a few 3s.  37...

EUROVISION 2024: BLOGILKAR'S HOME JURY RESULTS REVEAL - PLACES 20. - 25.

Another year, another Home Jury. And mind you, never ever before the results have been so surprising and I must honestly admit so not in line with my own likes and dislikes but what can I do, they have spoken. We voted with scores from 1 to 10 and this year also the scores are all time low and without a runaway winner. Ties were broken by highest individual scores. This year our unprofessional, mildly interested, regular Eurovision viewers included people in their teens, 20's, 30's, 40's and 50's. Both sexes, various locations in Finland added with our exotic Peruvian member to spice things up a little. I will count down the whole ranking in coming days from bottom to the top so please do follow up and comment if you like. Let's go! Next up are the places 20. to 25. All qualify for the final except Belgium that misses out....  20. ESTONIA  4,75 21. SLOVENIA  4,75 22. AUSTRIA  4,63 23. LITHUANIA  4,63 24. SERBIA  4,63 25. BELGIUM  4,50

EUROVISION 2023: BLOGILKAR'S HOME JURY RANKING #2: SWITZERLAND - REMO FORRER - WATERGUNS

Here it is! The incorruptible, infallible and most reliable Blogilkar's Home Jury made of people in their teens, 20's, 30's, 40's and 50's, mainly Finnish and mainly those who turn into Eurovision only on that one Saturday night, enjoy the show and that's it. Most everyone heard the songs for the first time so this was a true first impression judgement. And thus they had no idea about the fan polls, betting odds and trivial information and expectations. And boy did they turn those pools and odds around mostly, sinking some major favorites and enjoying some real underdogs. I will countdown the full ranking day by day until we have our winner out just before Liverpool is in full swing. This year I publish very few comments or opinions. Just the average score (we voted 1 to 10). In short this year is considered a bit poor by the jurors compared to for example last year and it may show in the somewhat low scores. Anyways: Enjoy! 2.
